Some fine releases I kept on listening throughout the year :

- Damon Albarn / Everyday Robots
- Robert Plant / Lullaby And... The Ceaseless Roar
- Tricky / Adrian Thaws
- Blonde Redhead / Barragan
- Marissa Nadler / July
- The Pack a.d. / Do Not Engage
- Tinariwen / Emmaar
- The Roots / ...And Then You Shoot Your Cousin

Best reissue (and well thought out) must be the Led Zeppelin first 5 albums reissues : mighty sound (at last!) and very interesting "companion" discs - Wish the classic Stones albums would be reissued this way.

Best compilation must be Nothing Has Changed by David Bowie (the 3-CD edition in reverse chronological order) - though the Who Hits 50! 2-CD comp is very nice too.
And looking forward to listen to the new AC/DC of course.

TRICKY was also influenced by Siouxsie and the Banshees! >grinning smiley<

He makes no mystery about his 80's influences winking smiley
Check out his Back To Mine compilation : [www.amazon.co.uk]

How could I forget Robert Plant. I think he has been getting better with each album since LZ.

Haven't bought many this year and I've listened to just a few more. I was a bit disappointed with the Springsteen album and I do love Bruce. I like the Beck album very mellow. Reminds me of some of his other work. I did like Tom Petty's Hypnotic Eye. And I do very much enjoy the new AC/DC album.

Very interesting "best albums" list. Thanks for posting.

Worth checking out IMO : Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 (A Long Way To The Beginning), Noura Mint Seymali (Tzenni), Freddie Gibbs with Madlib (PiƱata).
