I have many dvd's...but what do you guys think are the best to get. Many have several versions...so I thought it would be cool to have a list here of the VERY BEST DVDs to own in quality & historical importance. Thoughts?

I can list a bunch when I take a look through my stuff but one recent DVD I got that I was amazed by the quality (both sound and picture) is the Keith solo show at the Boston Orpheum in 1993.

Yeah, I have that Boston one on VHS...just bought the DVD from R.S.V.P. That is a sharp gig.

um, the Hampton 81 gig that was filmed was december 18th ... and yeah, it's pretty definitive, and then some. :E
among documentaries, Let It Bleed (from 2002) is great.
and among sidelights: the july 74 Kilburn gig by Ron Wood & Band (affectionately known as the Baby Barbarians) on the D-Stone New Barbarians 74/79 set is mighty fine.

Nippon Voodoo is a great one! Hampton '81 will always be my favorite. My first show, actually only listened to it on the radio that night. Attended the second show on the 19th. Thorogood was awesome too!

That Hampton 81 is one of my favorites. I was thinking Marquee Club is very sharp as well. Knebworth is a damn good one, Palais Royale...too bad LA 75 is in such bad quality.

happens in the best families, Rockman! :E

the Marquee - hell yeah! especially the version that includes the raw footage.
and the set called the First Decade includes some brilliant stuff - especially the 64 NME Awards gig and the TAMI performance.

L&G 4 Reels
LA Blues
Ft. W. Deluxe JT
Hampton 24 bit JT
AC 89 JT
Voodoo Halloween
94 Giants
Nippon Voodoo
97 St. Louis
98 Argentina
99 Hartford
02 HBO
4 Flicks
Let It Bleed

Good list steven...i'm surprised folks did not put any more 70s stuff here

yeah, AC 89 of course! and 25x5. and have we already mentioned the Double Door gig?
(Voodoo Halloween disappointed me, actually - it's a beautiful show, but i want to see the musicians, not that kind of overload of monotonous patterns on the screen.)

it's hard to list a lot of 70s stuff because there isn't very much, and so much of it is so torn & frayed. but since you ask: besides the aforementioned Marquee (71), L&G (72) and LA Blues (75), i dearly love Aux Abbatoirs (76) and the New Barbarians at Largo and Knebworth Fair (79, of course).

and hell, if we're listing official releases too:
of course Four Flicks, Keith & the Winos at the Palladium,
Gimme Shelter, Stones in the Park, Rock & Roll Circus ...

All great as hell.
