OT: RIP James Garner

A piece of my childhood died with the passing of James Garner.
Rockford Files is a classic! Where a certain David Chase (Sopranos) got his start writing and directing. Sad day.

Yes he was, Gooo. James Garner was good in so many roles, a very versatile actor. Murphy's Romance and Victor/Victoria are two of my favorite Garner movies.

Peace to him and his family.

Victor Victoria is a classic! Also Support Your Local Sherif. 36 Hours is one of many excellent dramas he shined in.

Dammit. Of all the heart throbs and movie stars, he was my life-long crush. Safe journey, James Garner.

One of my alltime fave shows, TRF. And, alas, rare as hell if available anywhere at all, "Nichols", which also brought Margot Kidder to the big world. Garner's best role to me is in "The Americanization of Emily" with Julie Andrews. If you haven't seen this movie, it is a revelation. One of Garner's best. Also check out "Marlowe" which has Bruce Lee in a small role.

I used to watch The Rockford Files when I was a kid. Great show. R.I.P..

"Lyin' awake in a cold, cold sweat. Am I overdrawn, am I going in debt?
It gets worse, the older that you get. No escape from the state of confusion I'm in.

One of those imminently appealing actors that made it look so easy. His Maverick character made a lasting impression on me... a good hearted gambler/schemer/scammer who took losing and winning equally in stride.

well...
I love JG in Maverick, Rockford, and VV, as well as the "Beef, it's what's for dinner" commercials.
But let's not forget that was he was also the best pace car driver at the Indy 500 in the history of mankind!
