I think the Stones are still the greatest live band on this planet. So many songs sounds better than the studio version IMO. Here are my live highlights:

- Jumpin' Jack Flash
- Midnight Rambler
- Miss You
- You Got The Silver
- Start Me Up
- Out of Control
- You Can't Always Get What You Want

Would say: 'One More Shot' was also better live than on the album.

While the studio version of "Sympathy for the Devil" is a masterpiece, I would argue that the Sympathies in November, 1969 (esp Detroit, Baltimore, and NYC) are the greatest live performances The Stones have ever given.

Time is on my side (1981/82)

It's a shame they did not perform this recently.

I was really surprised by Out Of Control, I was not particularly keen on the studio version, but it sounds great live. Really loved the version in Berlin this year.

It's useless to compare, but when Taylor was with them on stage I mean...a shit hot lead player, they definitely needed one at that time.

Obviously SHATTERED.

That song sounds really better on stage than on the Some Girls LP.

SHATTERED in live is a killer.

Streets Of Love only came alive in concert because only by then, they when they had actually fleshed it out during rehearsals. The studio version is nothing more than a demo turned single. Had they put the work in already when they were recording the album, the fans would love the song, but as the band didn't, most fans think it's a dud.

You Can't Always Get What You Want

Never did like that chorus on the original recording.

Kills me every time I hear it. Good pee break song. Even when I'm driving it's a good time to pull over.

Not very many, maybe Start Me Up and Midnight Rambler.

I have always been disappointed that they can't nail the intros to many songs which are so powerful on the records. Such as Gimme Shelter, Heartbreaker and Can't You Hear Me Knockin'. peace

the stones are better in the studio than they are live, for most songs. there is some exceptions though. shattered being an obvious one, start me up tends to be better live too, as does midnight rambler but so many stones songs dont work as well live as they do in the studio.

All the Chuck Berry covers
If You Can't Rock Me (probably already mentioned)
Wanna Hold You (at least in '97-'98)

Anything on Brussels Affair at all (referring to official version) - absolutely superior. I can listen to this album daily without fatigue.

From 1989 onwards - I'd only consider the live stuff (as seen on the Youtube) magical or captivating as of this last tour (2013-2014) since the time Ronnie started working his arse off live and covering a lot of slack for others - we all know what changes he made in the last couple of years and we've been rewarded as live fans for his hard work and sacrifice.
