"I Wanna Be Your Man". Probably the most striking guitar solo the Stones ever recorded. At least better than all Wood solos combined if memorability goes.

Brian showed how it should/could be done back in 1963...

Excitingly racous, positively distinctive... it is melodic, to the point, has a beginning and an end.

Elmore James doing a Beatles melody, the old and the new brought together in new and exciting way.

I wasn't laughing at Brian Jones, just the immediate appearance of this thread in response to the Taylor one in response to the Ronnie Wood one.

He played a bunch of great harmonica solos: Come On, Not Fade Away, I Wanna Be Loved, 2120 South Michigan Avenue, etc.

Brian Jones was a top-shelf harmonica player, better than Jagger has ever been. And I don't mean that as a knock on Jagger, who has improved quite a bit from his early Little Red Rooster harp parts.

In addition to everything already mentioned, I'll throw in his slide guitar on Down In The Bottom bootleg and his harmonica throughout Going Home. Also, his harmonica on Diddley Daddy and the other songs from the Bright Lights,Big City sessions.

Not a solo but lead motif: the Last time
The rhythm on Mona is one of their top five. One of those covers that outshine the original.

Doncha bother me

No Expectations of course. But Brian wasn't a soloist by nature.

Brian was 'colourist', not a 'soloist'.
I love his contributions.
