Who are the bands compared with the Rolling Stones in your countries?

Hi brothers and sisters! I need your help!
Can you please tell me what bands in your countries somehow are compared to the Rolling Stones, in longevity and success.
In my country, Portugal, it´s Xutos&Pontapés who opened for the Stones in Coimbra 2003 and they are now celebrating their 35 birthday.
For obvious reasons, I already know what band is in England cool smiley
Thanks in advance

Longevity & success: I would say the Scorpions in Germany and AC/DC in Australia.

But no comparison to the Stones ..... winking smiley

(OT--I'm sure I saw Golden Earring open for Bob Marley in London--am I imagining that? I mean, I know I saw them both, several times, it just sounds like such a strange combo for them to have been on the same bill.)

I saw Golden Earing as an opening act for Robin Trower and Spooky Tooth. They played 3 songs, about 15 minutes long each, then did an encore of Money (the same one the Beatles and Stones covered).

Primal Scream in Britain. Still going strong after 30 years.

Not that I would compare ZZ Top to the Stones, but they are a band who has all its original members going on 45 years now ... original as far as the same line-up as their first album.

...so come to think of it, they really don't fit here.

Treacle, what about Justin Bieber?!? Or his protege Carly Rae Jepsen from nearby Mission!
While no band can compare to the Stones, in Canada, Rush has been around since the early 70's.

Once apon a time there was a band named Telephone from France that was very successful and they also had a Rolling Stones thing going on at the beginning of their career. They didn't last but they were pretty good.
That song reminds me of "Respectable".

Attitude- and longevity-wise (but not in terms of success):

A bit more successful:

The Outsiders and The Bintangs were successful in The Netherlands in The Sixties,
They both opened for The Rolling Stones in 1966.
The Bintangs (1961) are still active as a band.

Chilliwack is about an hour and 15 minutes from where I live. I actually saw them last year at a Labour Day 'concert' in the park a 5 minute walk from where I live about 18 months ago.

What I forgot about was Loverboy, Corey Hart, Men Without Hats, Bryan Adams and April Wine.

Oh well, at least we have Neil Young, Rush and also the Power Goats.

For Canada, in my opinion, The Tragically Hip are Stones-ish, 2 guitar band, one or the best front men around and same line up 30 odd years on. Fantastic concert experience! Never really caught on in the US.
