But this one isn't really a reggae, merely a pop/rock song dressed in reggae-clothes. Listen to the beat
I love Toots, btw
I feel Charlie is getting the reggae beat down pretty well on this one, better than he did on Cherry Oh Baby.

Judging by the lyrics, Mick thought they were recording a comedy record...

What do you think 'Dear Doctor' and 'Country Honk' are?

Wow. I have such disdain for most of Emotional Rescue that I had to look up this song on YouTube. It hardly rang any memory bells. Probably only listened to it then because you couldn't just skip to the next cut on an LP from your remote on the couch. A B-side at best.

"Fun" Stones at their best, you can understand why the fans who'd experienced the 68/72 years first hand were (and still are) completely appalled though ;-)

Definitely one of the weak links on the album, along with Indian Girl and the horrible title track.

Send It To Me starts quickly with what initially promises to be the most stunning example of ‘weaving’ ever recorded but by the end of that initial burst of Keith’s sound and Ronnie’s fury I’m always left a little disappointed. Worst cock-tease of an intro ever and yet you can somehow imagine Keith and Ronnie posing like porn stars when listening to the playback.
The intro aside, however, I agree that it’s a fun song with an excellent vocal performance from Mick.

This is a top twenty song for me, it's what the Stones are all about, that longing and tongue-in-cheek rock n roll. It ain't Dice or Brown Sugar or Rambler but it's still a great underestimated tune on a great underestimated album, albeit with only about 3 chords and a half....

Does anyone know what a Bubarian is or where they may come from?
Conan The Bubarian?

Love this song but WTF is a Bubarian? Someone from Buba?
I always assumed Mick was saying 'Bulgarian', in his own inimitable style.

Possibly just a word indicating that she really could be from anywhere...
...just send her to me!
