Well - It was just meant to be a nice jolly frivolous thread - nothing more.

clothes and style are all part of the the theatre or rock and roll and mick in particular takes a lot lf care in deciding what to wear and the image to present and appearance also matters a lot to Charlie. Since his marriage, Ronnie has also been taking more care over his outfits.

I thought IORRians might have views on the clothes the stones wear on stage, in the same way they have views on nearly everything else stones related.

Outfits? ... or getups?
I once knew a gal who only had 4 outfits, but she could make 12 getups out of them.

btw- I hear even the kangaroos are excited the Stones are
coming to Australia, they are already practicing their air guitar moves.

That kangaroo is hysterical. grinning smiley

Is Mick still wearing that hairy gorilla cape? If so, I think he should lose it, and have a nice dramatic black one like he used to wear.

They should get the Voodoo Lounge costumes out of storage and repurpose them for the current tour.

They can all borrow my scarves...that's how you make 12 outa 4, Max. grinning smiley

Heck, I don't care what they wear as long as they show up...but, Mick does look divine in that gorilla cape, Keith can keep the cheerleader jacket, just cause no one else likes it, Ronnie looks good in anything, and I'd love to see Charlie bring back the frilly Cuban shirt.

Since their play list is comprised mostly of songs from 1965 to 1981, it might be fun for them to reprise the styles they wore for a given block of songs from each era. Then again, seeing them in their Rock n Roll Circus attire might be fun as well. I know Charlie goes for close-fitting tee shirts, but I like those stylish period dress shirts he wore in the 1969 to 1972 era.

But Mick is the only one concerned with costume changes during a show in the showbiz sense and is the only one to make frequent wardrobe changes. It seems their coolest attire was from the 1978 to 1982 era, when they wore their early middle age well, with a casually ragged sense of rock n roll (dis)grace.

Yes, I completely agree, Aquamarine!

From what I've seen in the photos, he now has a red feathery cape. I may have imagined that.
Hope so. cool smiley

No, it's not Just Your Imagination. New cape, red over black and looks a bit lighter and more manageable than that gorilla thing.

It's not that I'm unhealthily obsessive or anything ......but I'm just crossing my fingers and hoping keiths blue jacket ( KBJ ) was just for Asia - surely YSL can come up with something better for Australia ? We'll know the worst in Perth. Something else to worry about apart from MT, SFD solos, GS intros and set lists
