French phones are at least useful for one thing. As some other phones, they are tuned in A (440, 441 or 442 hz). Unless minless people are on the line, of course.

Something like that happens from time to time, you know, even in the best houses. Instead of rightly use the phone to tune bass guitars, some strange people use the phone to talk to each other.

"Hi, what do you want? Why do you make so much noise?", they said.

"I WANT MY A", was my reply, leaving there in some kind of confusion.

Later, wife told me I was a rude boy, not improving with the years. Better not.

Hey Joker. The dial tones are at 220Hz hear the US as well. I'bve been using it whenever a tuning reference is not availabe.

Chris, you right, it is 220, not 440.

But please, don't try with the electrical outlet.
