When you see this you see a fresh guy having fun in a boyish way. Almost unbelievable he was on the brink to leave the Stones because of a serious drug problem in that period.

I have a Jim Marshall photo of Mick wearing this exact thing, except here Mick also has a jacket on. My picture has the Strat and Mick's hair is the same, so I would believe this is a Jim Marshall photo.

Yeah now that I compare it to some others, I can see that it's probably him. Just looks very different in that one.

Hard times are starting to take it's toll on him maybe in that one.

Yes it's him. I have the Jim Marshall book and there's this picture plus the picture of Mick reclining in his bed in his hotel room playing the guitar..without the suitcoat on. That photo was also in Crossfire Hurricane.
Admittedly, this is not my favorite photo on him. Catches his face in a weird angle.

What year was this? Looks like about 1979.

I can't say for sure, but I'm assuming it's 1972 or a bit later. It's definitely not 1979, as MT was on tour with the Stones when this photo was taken.
