I tried to watch the video of the concert that Mick Jagger did in L.A. to promote "Goddess in the Doorway" but I can't find it on Youtube. Anybody has the link? Thank you.
Rock and roll,

Actually, I find it quite accurate but I guess Mick got his revenge because further in the interview while addressing what would be on "40 Licks" Keith said something like "Tell ya one thing..Undercover wont be on it" and of course that piece of crap was...

Loved it when it first came out and love it more now..it's in constant rotation in my car. Glad to see so many love it....guess Mick gets the last laugh after all.....not " dogshit in the doorway" by a LONG SHOT!

I found the Being Mick documentary about the making of the album more interesting than the actual album. smiling smiley

I was not aware that such a documentary existed, when I in an earlier post wrote about that album: " It seems to give glimpses into how it is to be Mick Jagger"

NO.

Wandering spirit is far better.

To me WANDERING SPIRIT was Mick Jagger showing that he could make a Rolling Stones-oriented album outside the Stones, whereas GODDESS IN THE DOORWAY more or less might be said to be a 'key-album' as to himself. Despite he is staging himself, as we must remind ourselves, Mick maybe reveals more of his person at one moment than he usually does and is known to do.

Bought it, but never got through it twice. I recall hating it.

Witness, I do agree how Stonesy the "Wandering Spirit" album is. Maybe that's why its the only one I listen to regularly (other than the Red Devils boot). I once mixed up some tracks from Keiths "Main Offender" and fav tracks from "Spirit" and it flowed very well....

I do like it. It seems to give glimpses into how it is to be Mick Jagger.

Favourite songs, without preference
between those two: "Hide Away" and "Don't Ceall Me Up".
agreed, love those two tracks. The album as s whole I still play, a few fillers but quite a few great tracks also..Blue, Too far gone, god gave, hideaway

Jagger's solo albums are all really not that bad. It's that damn production, and those "top LA session cats" giving it that ultra pro groove sheen. One has to get past that, and find the songs that are often really good. I love "Dancing in the Starlight", "Gun".e does seem to try to write better lyrics for his solo outings.
As much as Jagger ridicules it when people expect "stones-iness" from the Stones, it is he who reverts to lyrics-by-numbers approach for band songs.

Yes oddly and sadly for me too Keith has seemed more superficial than Mick for the last decade or so.

I love half of it and Blue, the other half not so much.

Played it once and doubt I'll ever do that again. Keith was right in his evaluation in my opinion.

Or is it a case of Mick being the frivolous husband and Keef being the jealous wife?
The "Dogshite" remark reeks of jealousy to me.

I think what become ever so evident with GID and the accompanying video was the state of Sir Michael's voice. It had become more and more nasal and annoying to listen to.
His dancing and prancing around couldn't compensate for that.

I like the Gibson guitar on the cover but only made it through the actual CD two or three times. Guess I should give it another listen.

Had that been a Stones song it would have been their best single since Start Me Up IMO. That song is friggen excellent.
