It is about a gangster from New York in witness protection in Lillyhammer, Norway.

Season two is now out there.

Never dared to watch it. Felt it may be too awkward. And Norwegian tv-series are a thing we are not that used to in Sweden. Maybe for a good reason?

That's why you're watching Skavlan every weekend?

Stupid post...

Actually I don't watch Skavlan anymore. He was refreshing in the beginning though and his competition in Sweden wasn't exactly stiff (we don't have a talkshow worth the name since anno dazumal). I'm telling you the truth though: Swedish television has not shown that many Norwegian series through the decades. Fleksnes was a huge hit back then but that's about it. Personally I think it's a bit sad since I would like to to watch more Norwegian shows.

But you probably know that this show isn't a typical norwegian thing, as Little Steven has written the plot and plays the lead role...

It's a worldwide hilarious comedy smiling smiley

I'm watching a Norwegian tv-series right now, Dandelion. "Hjem" a hembygdsromantisk (English for that?) comedy. Beautiful landscape (reminds of Jämtland where I used to spend my summers when I was growing up) and beautiful Norwegian women - that Oda is something! They used to air it before Homeland on Mondays so I sort of watched two "Homelands" in a row!

Great show. Rather unique in many ways.

Varg Veum is a pretty good tv-serie from Norway...and of course Hjem with them 3 lovely 'sisters'...

"Hjem", yeah I watched that last year here.

Varg Veum is a low budget series of the brilliant books from Gunnar Staalesen - which are highly recommendable. Way better than Jo Nesbø's books, for instance, imo.

The Euro/American hybrid production makes it different from the rest

It's a norwegian production, but Steve has written some of the script for season 2...
