Well I think Melanie's vocal is certainly better than Mick's. Not disparaging Mick because he's excellent but Melanie knocks it out of the park and down the street.

OK, it's a wet an rainy Saturday afternoon, with nothing to do. I'm rearranging my vinyl into alphabetical order (OK, realphabetizing...I've been through this MANY times).
OK and to start things off, I came across a Melanie album, 4 sides of Melanie. I bought it for the cover of Ruby Tuesday from 1970...I think it was a single all over, which is absolutely fantastic and I think blows away the original. So powerful.

I've always liked the version of Wild Horses by The Sundays. Whether you think it's better is beside the point, because of how they adapted the song to suit their own sound and style....

I have not yet heard any Stones cover which moves me anywhere close to the original (including all those proposed above), with the possible exception of JJF by Aretha Franklin but Keith and Ronnie are on it.
