To the Stones' credit, they did peg the Stonesarchive releases at a very reasonable price. Even though they got the likes of Bob Clearmountain (I think) in to give them a fresh mix.

That is true. I can't do anything but applaud them for that. They should tap Springsteen to do a similar thing!

I'd rather they channelled him for a top ticket price of £80 and three hour concerts plus pre-shows with random setlists, personally!

>>Wouldn't it be great if the Stones released concerts like Bruce has started doing? new>>
Absolutely not
Here's an example: I have just watched a "youtube recording" which was a part of a DIME torrent, a recording from Chicago 2013. Great quality, both audio and video, all was filmed from several angles
One person called that "Gimme Shelter" the best GS of the last tour
And maybe he was right? In either case, that's the most pathetic Gimme Shelter I have ever heard. The "licks" (could one call that "licks" ? ) by Keith is the most annoying notes one could imagine
Of course Ronnie's dead-on-chord at about 1 minute *should* be taking the cake, but that is such an obvious stupid mistake and actually is no contender to the incredible lacklusture guitar department during the rest of the song (and show)
Here is the video:
This band is lucky to have busy idiots buying tickets, but they would be pushing it too far if they think they start selling recordings of the shows, afterwards. They should have done that in the 60s, 70s and 80s......but of course there were no internet at that time

Bruce is great, but Stones are Stones.

I wonder why the other Springsteen thread about playing Highway To Hell in Perth was deleted?

Longest Stones setlist was I think in 1989 28 songs.
Correct me if I'm wrong...
Such a long set is impossible now

a bit hard to compare crowd numbers as Bruce played 2 arena shows approx 8,000 and the Stones are playing an outdoor gig for almost 45,000.

It would be interesting to know the crowd numbers for each band....

Bruce in march 2013 played to more than 150.000 people over 10 sold-out Australian arena shows, for a gross of over 25 million dollars (excluding merchandising).
this year he's doing 11 Australian shows (2 in stadiums) + 2 NZ stadium shows.
in other words: come early march 2014, well more than 400.000 people will have seen the ESB in Australia and NZ during the previous 12 months.
