To the Stones' credit, they did peg the Stonesarchive releases at a very reasonable price. Even though they got the likes of Bob Clearmountain (I think) in to give them a fresh mix.

I do expect Bruce Inc. to take things further during downtime between tours and make some old shows available too.

That is true. I can't do anything but applaud them for that. They should tap Springsteen to do a similar thing!

I'd rather they channelled him for a top ticket price of £80 and three hour concerts plus pre-shows with random setlists, personally!

Bruce live downloads

I think it's a nice initiative from Bruce and the E-Streetband for their fans. The Black Crowes, Pearl Jam and Rush recorded their shows for download as well. I hope The Stones will do the same thing.

Red Hot Chili Peppers did the same too. Price's quite high for FLAC though.

Record the 14 shows. Have 'em ready for the day after the concert. Have a subscription, or pay as you watch, for all the shows.

Like a big PPV for the whole tour.

I'd love for this to happen.

Absolutely not

Here's an example: I have just watched a "youtube recording" which was a part of a DIME torrent, a recording from Chicago 2013. Great quality, both audio and video, all was filmed from several angles

One person called that "Gimme Shelter" the best GS of the last tour
And maybe he was right? In either case, that's the most pathetic Gimme Shelter I have ever heard. The "licks" (could one call that "licks" ? ) by Keith is the most annoying notes one could imagine

Of course Ronnie's dead-on-chord at about 1 minute *should* be taking the cake, but that is such an obvious stupid mistake and actually is no contender to the incredible lacklusture guitar department during the rest of the song (and show)

Here is the video:

This band is lucky to have busy idiots buying tickets, but they would be pushing it too far if they think they start selling recordings of the shows, afterwards. They should have done that in the 60s, 70s and 80s......but of course there were no internet at that time

If you are Stones fan you have to live with tremendously and totally screwed up songs all over their career. The other day they deliver the same track in an ingenious way ...

Strictly speaking, Philly was only 27 and a half songs because the power went off half way through Shattered......and that was the only show they had 28 listed in '89. ....ahhh, Atlantic City on 17.12.1989 as well...so..but Knebworth still does just beat that with 20 seconds of the Country honk...or 1 song and 20 secs if you count the IYCRM/GOOMC medley as 2 songs

Knebworth had 30 listed if you count the medley of If you can't rock me/get off of my cloud as 2 songs and include the Country honk which wasn't really played, well, only about 20 seconds.
But if you do count the medley as 1 song, that makes 29 and if you count the Country honk as 1/20th of a song that's just a smidgen over 28, which still does beat Philly @ 27 1/2 songs.......Atlantic City's 28 songs..........

a bit hard to compare crowd numbers as Bruce played 2 arena shows approx 8,000 and the Stones are playing an outdoor gig for almost 45,000.

pool's in but the patio ain't dry

night two in Adelaide just finished.

Start: 8.16 p.m.

Just 3 hours and 9 minutes tonight. Then again, he is 64 and its something like 43 degrees Celsius there today..hence the opening song choice..

01. HEATWAVE

02. JACKSON CAGE

03. She's The One

04. BACKSTREETS

05. Cover Me

06. High Hopes

07. Just Like Fire Would

08. Hungry Heart

09. BETTER DAYS (sign)

10. The Promised Land (sign)

11. The River

12. American Skin (41 Shots)

13. LONG WALK HOME (sign)

14. Pay Me My Money Down

15. Shackled And Drawn

16. Radio Nowhere

17. Lonesome Day

18. The Ghost Of Tom Joad

19. Badlands

20. HUNTER OF INVISIBLE GAME
21. JUNGLELAND
22. Born To Run

23. RAISE YOUR HAND (sign)

24. Dancing In The Dark

25. Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out

26. ROCKIN' ALL OVER THE WORLD

27. I'll Work For Your Love (solo acoustic)

28. Thunder Road (solo acoustic)

End: 11.25 p.m.

The ninth show of this year's tour - and it gets ten tour premieres. By my calculations, only 10 songs were played on both nights, so 49 different songs.

99 different songs on the tour so far - only six of them played at all nine shows to date.

Thats another one I'll have to download. The bastard.

Adelaide Entertainment Centre holds up to 12,000. Both shows are sell outs as far as I'm aware.

It would be interesting to know the crowd numbers for each band....

Bruce in march 2013 played to more than 150.000 people over 10 sold-out Australian arena shows, for a gross of over 25 million dollars (excluding merchandising).

this year he's doing 11 Australian shows (2 in stadiums) + 2 NZ stadium shows.

in other words: come early march 2014, well more than 400.000 people will have seen the ESB in Australia and NZ during the previous 12 months.

I am not a fan of much from Bruce since the mid 80s (kind of like I am with the Stones, come to think of it!). For me it was always the Stones, The Who, The Kinks, The Clash then a big step down to anyone else. But I give Bruce props for giving it his all seemingly every show. James Brown is known as 'the hardest working man in show business' but Bruce, at least live, brings it.

(I just wish he would strip down the band and have a leaner sound).

You Aussies and Kiwis are having some amazing shows. I'm envious.

Regarding Bruce's setlist variations, I am in the same boat with downloading and listening -- how many shows can you get?

I will be watching DimeaDozen for a compilation of rarities which some enterprising taper usually puts together. That is my short cut to having it all.

I love Bruce but this isn't E Street Band, it's the E Street Orchestra. There's too much on stage and you don't have to put horns on everything just to justify paying those guys.

I do enjoy the downloads. Love Perth #3.

There arent horns on every song. Hes toured with horn sections before (1976-77 and 1988). I like them personally. With a four man guitar section, theres still plenty of everything.

Using a horn section was a conscious decision to change the sound, as opposed to simply replacing Clarence. It worked. The last tour was his best since 1981.
