Birthday email from Stones
Posted by: JohnCihon ()

For the first time in years, I did not get an email from the Rolling Stones marketing machine the day before my birthday, wishing me a happy birthday and reminding me to blast some of my favorite Stones songs on my birthday.

Has anyone else experienced this? Should we read anything into this?

John

yes. Theyve split up and this is their subtle way of telling you and everyone else.

I get it now-Hyde Park was their last show, and it was also their last marketing email (for the download). It all makes so much sense!

Gazza, love that post!

John, I wish you a great Happy Birthday YEAR! Your gift is the following "inside info." (I'm daring to tell you as Cocaine Eyes and Dreamer are busy.)

Keith "may" be a Conservationist but he's not one for buying postage.

As we all know, Mick's "just a party boy."

Ronnie's booked every morning, afternoon and evening searching for "photo opportunities." John, if you need any artwork, just email Ronnie's "people." Maybe they'll offer a "special birthday rate."

Charlie would have wanted you to be sent a card but when he's not on tour he tries to forget anything to do with the Rolling Stones.

Lies! He sent me a nice signed photo one time after I sent him a birthday card and he'd been off the road for about 9 months at the time! spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

Come to think of it, I didn't get a birthday email last month either...and I got such a nice one last year.

Well, they did ask me to buy some merchandise for my own birthday. My hope is that someone in the Stones organization, maybe even the guys themselves, decided it was too tacky and scrapped it.

That, or they just forgot me. sad smiley

Did you forget to let them renew your Fan Club Membership?

They forgot my birthday this year as well.

I just thought it was because they were getting old.

I doubt The Stones even acknowledge one another's birthdays.

Most likely, famous people only acknowledge their own birthdays.

Although Brian Wilson did call Paul McCartney on his 70th birthday....

This can only mean one thing! The end of the Rolling Stones! And to think I had the opportunity to dump them before they dumped me!

Well, you haven't been a fan since at least Sunday, so you may have got in in time.

That's right! I almost forgot in all the excitement! They sure like toying with us don't they? I have decided to purchase the coming DVD just to see if they did any additional overdubbing beyond the SMU intro. Do you think they would go as far as dubbing in crowd noise from Glastonbury?

Didn't Charlie and Ronnie show up at Mick's early birthday party in London after Hyde Park?

My birthday was back in June and I didn't get one either.

Once Keith blew off Mick's party it was all over now.

Maybe this thread should be merged with the 'Rolling Stones Live - might it be all over now ?' thread.

you didn't spend at least 2000 bucks on the latest tour. You're out!

I flew to Toronto and stayed two nights in a hotel...but it was all on points and they were the $85 tix, so I'm out too!
