Stones Vinyl Collections

Lets see your Stones vinyl collections.

My first Stones vinyls!!! Picked up these four today. Add a 19th Nervous Breakdown/Sad Day 45, that is mine so far.

An idea I have is to wallpaper a wall in my guitar room. Though somehow be able to take them down, so I can listen to them. Thinking either velcro(ghetto kind of) or some type of shelf that they can display them. If anyone has done something like this. Can you please elaborate on it?

Thanks!!!
MingSubu

Thanks!

Had a blast shopping for them. This place was pretty cool and smelled awesome. Going to make a trip there this weekend.

I've got all of them (UK releases and some US) up until 1983, then I went to live in a place where I had no turntable. sad smiley But I do now! smiling smiley So have been slowly collecting the post-'83 stuff and am still waiting to be reunited with my earlier collection.

Ming...if you truly love your vinyl do not hang them on the wall...find a nice cool dry place where they can all be packed in together tightly...

treat them like their at the first 10 rows of a Stones show...

If you have money to burn on Stones vinyl, you can make it a "Rolling Stones Hot Stampers" collection:

Rolling Stones Hot Stamper LPs

The site currently has a "Super Hot Stamper" of the "Some Girls" LP which is selling for a mere $279.99. Better hurry!!!

I don't give a shit what a hot stamper is i got my some girls mint 10$

And I don't give a shit that you got "Some Girls" for $10. So all is cool.

I don't give a care either. On the other hand, I wonder if the Hot Stamper sounds 28 times better?

I have several original sealed Some Girls....my conundrum would be to open them to see if it is considered a 'Hot Stamper'.

So whats a hot stamper anyway, an early press? First press? Or just a really good sounding pressing?

With a couple of exceptions, my modest Stones vinyl collection was handed over by my father.

Original Decca singles :-

I Wanna Be Your Man
Not Fade Away
Little Red Rooster
(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction

EP's :-

The Rolling Stones
5x5
Got Live If You Want It
Heart Of Stone [French Decca EP]

LP's :-

Out Of Our Heads [U.K. Decca first pressing]
Big Hits (High Tide And Green Grass)
Through The Past Darkly (Big Hits Vol.2)

probably all of the above, but in the online search I did, it is just a 'really good' sound pressing. So it's completely subjective, at least as far as I read.

Yes. Subjective is the keyword. I suspect many on this board is like me, with a slightly shot hearing from being exposed to way too much good music. So, even if I purchase gold cables for my speakers or diamond needles for my turntable, i wont hear that much of a difference. Brickwalled mp3 vs old grooves is another matter.
Hot stamper seems to be great for those who are into that sort of thing but difficult to "prove" being worth more than a standard first press or sealed for that sake.

But I like the ride so much better these days with so many options regarding vinyl. Keep em coming.

I just hope that I stumble upon something in my collection that is a 'hot stamper'.

I'd unload that baby in a second for $300 and buy some actual real rare vinyl.

The London white label promo 'I Wanna Be Your Man/Stoned' eludes me.

Thanks for posting, please keep it up.

I'm finding vinyl so interesting. A richer sound to the music and I love the covers and sleeves. Putting a record on and just digging the artwork and liner notes. A very fun escape!!!

For some reason, the Japanese singles, on ebay, are catch my interest.

@Godxofxrock9: I was joking in my previous post. $10 for a mint "Some Girls" LP is a deal. Congratulations. If you ever want to sell it, I'll buy it from you for $11 winking smiley

@treaclefingers: I look at Hot Stampers like George Costanza looks at lying/the truth: "It is a Hot Stamper, if you believe it is a Hot Stamper." You & I have talked before about the best-sounding vinyl pressings. I think you are right -- for the most part, the best sounding LPs are the original pressings.

I will try to post some photos of my collection tonight. There is just something about vinyl. Glad you are joining in the fun, Ming!
Milkyway i don't care its all just joking around here i will post some pics of my collection later 2

No sad smiley, just a sleeve. The otherside has the More Hot Rocks "negative" pic, kind of like the album cover.
