You know, I always felt sorry for Nicky. Nice looking man, but he usually looked so pale and very, very thin. He suffered from Crohn's Disease which I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.

he sounds like a very talented musician to have been part of so many great songs by various artists.

seems such a waste that he is barely known in todays musical circles while people like robbie williams are lauded for their "services to the music industry"

He doesn't play on Between The Buttons. Cool, Calm, Collected was recorded at RCA in August 1966.

The first Rolling Stones release to feature him was We Love You. This is according to the man himself and it's some what backd up by articles from the time.

Nikki Hopkins ! at least I will never forget his contribution...

One of my favorite RS live pieces has him very high on the mix: the GS from the "non L&G ft. worth show":

Just listen to his input in the build up of the songs intro!

Yes, his sessions with L. Ron Hubbard are legendary. Didn't LRH open for the Stones during their '72-73 tours?? What a rocker!!

And didn't Jim Price play piano on Sister Morphine?

OK. Well his own site says that as well as Nico's, which is where I got 90% of the info from.

- Fingerprint File’: MJ (voc, gtr)/KR (gtr)/MT (gtr, bass)/BW (synth)/CW
(dr)/Nicky Hopkins (p)/Billy Preston (clavinet)/Jolly Kunjappu (tabla)

Eh, I missed the final LP lineup for STICKY FINGERS which explains this one...

- Sister Morphine III (MJ/KR/Marianne Faithfull) -Ry Cooder on guitar, Nicky
Hopkins on piano; early version (22nd, 28th & 30th March)

However, Tops... MJ (voc)/KR (gtr, bvoc)/MT (gtr)/BW (bass)/CW (dr)/
Nicky Hopkins (p)
