Small things you love in Stones songs

- when in Ruby Tuesday in the final chorus Charlie plays on toms instead on snares
- when Undercover Of The Night fades out and fades in again
- when Keith sings his part in Memory Motel differently each time
- "one two" in JJF
- when the drums join the cowbell in Honky Tonk Women
- "Keith, what are you, what are you doing?" in Dance pt1
- "Pretty, pretty, SUCH a pretty girl" in Beast Of Burden
etc.

For me, there's many on Ya Ya's...

Love In Vain...

"When the train come in the stashun..." - the train whistle guitar sounds in that verse

Midnight Rambler...

"Well, alright..." -audience scream..."Well, alright..." -audience scream

But my all-time favourite...

Sympathy For The Devil...

"Ahh, yeah..." -then the mother of all note-bending at the end of Taylor's solo..."Whooooo...Ahhhh, Owwwwww..."

After 40 years it still gives me shivers now and then...

I do love Keiths alabalabalaba on One More Shot, also the lyric change to 'Whats wrong with laughing in your smile" on the You Got The Silver Shine a Light.

King Bee, when Mick says he's going to sting you and the guitar stings like a bee.

The tight boogie Keith plays round the 2:46 mark on Had It With You!

That fallen angel that comes staggering in all dishevelled & disreputable just before the sunshine line in Rocks Off

The vocal addenda in Little T&A: hiagh! ha! ho! :E

In YGAGWYW, in the build-up to the switch to doubletime, there's a cymbal stumbling along off-kilter like a refugee from a lunatic asylum -
it comes in on truly mad beats like 2.5 and almost-7.3, and when then when the changes comes and it all falls into place -
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yes ahhhhhh yes ahhh yes

The very first sound in the studio Rambler, setting the murky distorted scene for the twisted saga to come

I love the Rolling Stones

The absolute end of BTZ comes to mind. Speaking of endings, I even love the fade out on Sway. In my mind it goes on forever. So don't know if NO music counts in this thread, but for me it works.

How about the 'silence' (no singing) after the line "Been a lonely night at the Memory Motel...", in that last verse?!
That one (still) always does it, for me.

So many, here are two that stand out for me.

Let It Loose
~3:00, when Mick starts doing the, "Your in the bar, getting drunk..."

No Use In Crying
~2:30, the guitar slides out and then plays that low note. Mick does that falsetto "you, you..."

Oops!!! Forgot this one. I'm sure you had to be in my boots to understand, but I'll tell it anyways. A few years ago, on a snowboarding trip, I was listening to Sticky Fingers. Moonlight Mile came on and my run kind of went along, with the song. Slowly building up, then hitting a little kicker at the buildup. Landing it and having a blissfull ride to the lift. Very spiritualizing, the hairs on my neck were standing up. Love when that happens!!!
Moonlight Mile
~4:01

"Get down" (the 2nd especially)
Keith & Mick shouting "yes" and 'no" at the same time (both SFM)

"My turn" - Little by little

Duke's Take the A-train: the excitement and expectation of the thing to come.

"The vocal addenda in Little T&A: hiagh! ha! ho! :E" - I was listening to the song this morning in my car. There are moments I think this is the best thing they've ever done.

----------------------------
"Music is the frozen tapioca in the ice chest of history."

"Shit!... No shit, awright!"

Greg, the A-Train intro is great! I also really like Copeland's Fanfare intro too.

These two are moments when you can indeed feel indebted to be in the company of absolute musical geniuses.

The combination of Micks voice and Keith's guitar on 2000 Man during...

Or did you come down crashing
Seeing all the things you've done?
Oh it's a big put on

Brian's recorder on Ruby Tuesday during...

Dying all the time, lose your dreams and you
Will lose your mind, ain't life unkind

The atmosphere of the early part of I Am Waiting.

On Respectable it sounds like the tape is running too fast for a tenth of a second or so - giving the song a modulation-like effect.

That thing happens in just the right place, and the song takes off completely grinning smiley

The middle 8 of Rock's Off when it goes into that weird musical vortex...feel so hypnotised, can't describe the scene...it's all mesmerised...all that inside me.

And then suddenly it comes out the other end - like the Starship Enterprise freeing itself from the pull of a black hole in space - to triumpantly get back on course.
