I have often wondered about this. He's not on the single, obviously, but I would be intrigued to know whether he featured on an earlier rendition.

Speaking of Brian, I'm curious to know if he ever met face-to-face the man who he was being replaced with, Mick Taylor, before the former's untimely passing.....

I have some questions related to songwriting or the songs themselves:

Who was most responsible for writing the music of the Jagger-Richards songs[of the 1960's]?

Was 'Ruby Tuesday' co-written by Brian Jones?

Who wrote the melody for 'Street Fighting Man'?

Regarding Keith's 3 PU Les Paul Custom with the psychedelic paint job, do you know the serial number the serial number, when he acquired it and where it is today?

Did they ever miss a gig in the 60's (or 70s or 80s)? I know they played a few shows without Brian due to his asthma but they kept the appearance and didn't miss the show.

I have it my head that they never cancelled a gig until Keith's septic finger episode in 1990, which is remarkable given the 60's on-the-road behavior and the general/comparative lack of "professionalism" by all bands during that era re: live shows. (I'm talking about shows where they no-showed or cancelled due to illnesses or related factors; not things like the Pembroke Castle in '73, etc.)

The answer to your question is "Yes" Jones & Taylor met first in 1967 while the Stones were recording TSMR L.P. Taylor was actually there to meet with Ian Stewart
about a guitar. The meeting was short and quick. I hope that helps..

Taylor never met Jones, Taylor himself has said this. He never saw the stones live either.

He met Stu when he went to see about Keith's les Paul.

How about this? Did Ronnie Wood ever meet Brian Jones? He'd met Jagger circa 1965 as he mentions a session for Andrew Loog Oldham's Immediate label which involved the pair of them.

I have spoke with Taylor many times about this question, he said he never met or saw Jones but then recanted this by saying he met/saw Jones at Olympic Studios while meeting Stu about a guitar. I have Taylor on tape saying he also encounted Jones in 1969 while in the Studio with the Stones, Quoted as saying "He was very pleasant" .. I doubt they ever had a serious conversation in either encounter, the 69 one I am very doubtful even occured, but he did say this??? One of the biggest questions was how Taylor announced his leaving the Stones, there are at least 3 different stories. But the truth is out there somewhere.

To find the truth about so many of the Stones stories is really a task as stories always change.

Where oh where is that mid-60s interview where Bill explained that they had an agreement
whereby getting fired meant you got a "golden handshake" but quitting meant you didn't?

Largest 60's Crowd?

Just wondering what would be the Stones biggest concert in the 60's while Brian was still playing with them? Not sure if they played any stadium shows back then? I know that when they played Vancouver in 65 and 66, they played the Forum and Agridome, both holding around 4000.
