He joined them onstage at the Aragon in CHicago '02 and wasnt allowed to sing, just play. Mick cut him off as he opened his mouth.

Ask him, I believe he claims to have performed in several capacities on Exile....he claims not only to sing on more than one track, but arranging back up vox on several tracks.....he was pissy.

Dr John is fantastic, and I think Dancing With Mr D continues that voodoo stew, influenced by the good Dr.
I will. I' ve been listening to a lot of his music through "raspshody". I really like his early work and also his last one "Locked down".Quote

Just Wanna See His Face was inspired by the session Jagger did with Dr John on The Sun, Moon & Herbs.

Another beard!
Thanks Latebloomer, I'm quite excited. A while ago during a video chasing spree on the Utube I caught one featuring Johnny Winter and Dr. John jamming during a TV program in the 70"s; it was @#$%& great.Quote

Yeah, we need to slide him on over to the bearded thread, Koen. I've always been a fan of Dr. John, love his vibe...even when I don't quite get it, his music is always interesting. I got Locked Down last year and it's steadily grown on me. Seeing him on the grammy's last February was a hoot, what a character.
Love The Birchmere rollmops, I wish I could go. Have fun!

I always thought Fingerprint File had a similar sound to Dr. John's psychadelic stuff of the same period, a la the above-posted Walk on Guilded Splinters, etc. I think Mick, anyway, was quite influenced by the New Orleans blues thing.
