I also press replay on Rocks Off as Rockman. But I feel that the energy in the song always seem slighly different the second time I hear it. When I was younger I had a tape with Brown Sugar on it. And it was the same Brown Sugar (Original studiotrack) on it over and over again. I could listen to that song for days on end. But today it's Rocks Off (Brown Sugar remains my favourite though).
Many times every week I put on a Stones album and set it to repeat. Then it plays many many times. Yesterday I heard Goats Head Soup for 6 hours or so. There's even good reason for doing this: An album like GHS, which can sound heavy and dull the first time you hear it, simply needs way more listening than, say, Let It Bleed. And I keep discovering little details and stuff. It's THE way to listen to music. Because I heard GHS so much yesterday, I'm now completely hooked on Dancing With Mr. D. I never cared too much for it, but now I understand it's qualities. And man oh man I'm gonna keep hearing music this way. It's the greatest way to me.
