Time For Stones To "Seize The Moment" And Record New Album!
Date: August 7, 2013 19:52

The Rolling Stones historic performance at Glastonbury won over a whole new generation of fans! Instead of doing more shows this fall they should hit the studio! Time to put 50 and Counting to bed and come up with a brand new theme for 2014. Yes, timing is everything, but of course I am sure Sir Mick knows that as well as anyone. smoking smiley

A new album would be most welcome.

Make it raw, rootsy and forget trying to follow current trends. Just be the Stones!

But what about another Plundered My Soul? Which is what we might get if Mick Taylor is on board, so that Mick J can write more melodically, riffing off of Taylor's chromatic guitar lines.

The Exile bonus disc was really the most recent Stones album, sort of the Tattoo You of the 2010s.

Plundered My Soul was a new song. As was Pass The Wine. I don't believe these songs were in circulation as finished bootlegs before 2010.

So let's roll tape....

I consider that Some Girls bonus disc as the last Stones album.
I rarely play the Exile bonusdisc, but at least once I week I listen to that Some Girls disc. Truly amazing.

Agreed, generally a fantastic album although my fave song is still Plundered My Soul.

Given the tour, and the plan to do more, of course it is.

YES NEW ALBUM LONGER TOUR TO AMERICA AND EUROPE EVERYWHERE ELSE TO

They could surprise us fans with a really good album this time if they do it.

Mick and Keith got to write together like they used to and try to make this

one really good for us.

You're right. They could surprise us fans with a really good album this time if they do it.

They won't. They don't need to and it's well past obvious they don't want to.

Five Reasons Why The Stones Will Record New Music!
Date: September 5, 2013 22:36

#1. Because they want to: Mick, Keith, and Ronnie have all recently hinted so. Hinted? Yeah, that's your first clue!

#2. The Glory of Glastonbury: They won over a whole new generation of fans, all in one night's work! It was breathtaking! And, mind blowing! How could any entertainer (especially the Rolling Stones) entertain thoughts of hanging it up after that historic performance, and after nearly drowning in that "roaring sea of adulation!" Keith was so moved he dropped to one knee! And, then, could barely remove himself from the stage!

#3. Their peers: McCartney, Dylan, Springsteen, U2, Young, etc., are all still recording new music. Even the Beach Boys came together and produced a new album! Do you think for one minute that Mick is going to allow that arrogant jackass Mike Love to have that on them? You have got to be kidding!

#4. Their legacy: Do you think they want it attached to their legacy that at the end of their career they were nothing more than a nostalgia act? And, that they were either indifferent, too lazy, or unable to produce new material? You have got to be kidding?

#5. Their fans: Mick said the reason they continue is because of us (the fans). Do you not believe him? There are still plenty of us that are hungry for new Rolling Stones music!

The real question is not IF they will record a new album, it's WHEN? The sooner the better, of course! Nothing like the month of October to stir up a little autumn Stones studio magic! And, don't forget to leave the door ajar for Mick Taylor!

Only #1 seems a good reason. The rest is just wishful thinking.

Yes. New album. Mark me down.

Enough "Greatest Hits" repackages with
foolish artwork , only 2 new songs , and
edited ( or butchered ) greatest hits tracks.

True. #1 is the only relevant thing. If they want to, they will. I don't hapopen to think they want to. And, no, I do not believe any public pronouncements, because I have been a fan of this band for decades and what they say publicly on these topics has no resemblance to truth, except in rare cases of pure accident.
