I have much respect for Tom, but I've personally never been able to get that "acquired taste" for his voice.

This is a dream coming true. One of the few artist of his generation who still releases perfect new material and also one of the very few in the business who never sold out. Waits would never advertise a Mercedes car or something. Just two days after the crappy guests at Staples...

Haha...I'm not a big fan of Lisa and Bernards backing vocals, but Tom Waits barking out backups might be a bit chaotic and hard on the ears for some.

That would be cool, but probably very unlikely. Considering David won't even tour in support of his own stuff. And he won't even give interviews will he? I read something about him have a person, a "mouthpiece", doing interviews on his behalf.

I'd settle for Paul and Ringo too. :-) How cool would that be? On some old rocker like I Got Stung or something. That would rock.
