I read that during Fool to Cry in '76 he noded out for a few seconds or so onstage. Not sure if that's right or not.

It would be hard to verify because the crowd nodded off as well.

It never happened. Just an urban myth, like oh so many tales regarding Keith.

You're very wrong. Those are not urban myths, those are in fact bourbon fifths...

Well, maybe he didn;t fall asleep but he did drift off ever so slightly and the sound of the feedback from the guitar snapped him back in. I don;t think it would have been sleep as such, more likely he'd taken a hit of something and was just rolling for a few seconds. Over the years the story has indeed become embellished into him falling asleep and crashing backwards on stage. As those above state, there is no evidence to support this that i am aware of.

Yes, this is the story, what Keith told the press some time ago. Like the blood-change, or his father's ashes... Just a little Keef for people in the daily grind.

There's a clip out there of Elvis loosing it on stage just rambling a mumble. At some point he realizes this [to his horror, I expect] and makes one of the all time re-entries/recoveries, with the old auctioneering sale close [after what sounds like much mumbling] of "sold American!."

Elvis made the most sense when he mumbled. In the clip you mention he was balancing the TCB bands check books...that Ron Tutt...he always needed help with that...

The difference between his inept solo on Key to the Highway at the Crossroads Festival the other night and his generally strong playing during the five Stones shows last year is the amount of rehearsal. It looks like he may not have even done a soundcheck for the Crossroads gig. Yikes, he's buried in the mix, and that little section where he plays in the wrong key when going to the IV chord is something a kid in a garage would do. Nice vocal, though. But he worked hard to get ready for the Stones shows and it showed.

At this point, he's a burned out old man who plays like crap when he has to wing it. But, if he sticks to the tried and true, he'll be fine. This probably means minimal set list variation in the upcoming shows. Jagger'll have him on a short leash.

No rehearsal, no sound check. Sounds familiar...

Can't disagree much more, really. It's down to Keith's desire and ability to play that the Stones are touring again--he's probably the least "burned out" in the band. And the addition of Mick T is presumably precisely so they CAN vary the setlist.

Never mind Jagger, we need Bill Wyman to post on this board.
