They rehearsed the Web-site vote at the soundcheck EVERY time (before the internet voting closed.........).

It was indeed very often fixed (I think at one show that was being televised, the fans choice was "@#$%&" but they bottled it and played something else instead (I think it was 'Waiting on a Friend' which would have been prearranged as Redman was guesting)
That, plus the cybervote was open to being flooded with repeat requests.
It was, in theory, a novel idea though.
If they bring it back, they'd probably charge you to vote anyway!

It took too long. It was obviously contrived and most of the time the winners was "Under My Thumb.''
