Keith Richards himself says Jim Marshall is a Stone in the foreword of the 1972 book...it seems Keith stoned a lot of people. Chuck is, in fact a Stone...hell Marshall never even played with 'em

In an article on Daryl a while back, Keith generously said that anyone on stage with them was a Rolling Stone.

Then all of the women on stage in this clip from Let's Spend the Night Together are Stones.

All of 'em.

PLUS, since this is from 1981, they all have seniority over Chuck. tongue sticking out smiley

Well, one of them was--and is still--married to the drummer and I believe another was Mick's girlfriend at the time. Don't know whether Jo and/or Patti were included there as well....

I think they were, if memory serves...

I'm not sure about Jo but Jerry, Patti & Shirley are there. You can easily spot them on Blu-Ray.

Not even Ian Stewart was a Stone...you have to be on the frontcover to a record to be....

Could easlily have been this cover, though...

Yet ANOTHER article declares Chuck to be a Stone, in the headline, in the article and in a photo caption on the web site.

The tree farmer rocker: A Rolling Stone opens up on his new strange life as he jets in for Da Camera

Photo Caption:
The Stones, left to right: Keith Richards, Mick Jagger, Ronnie Wood, Chuck Leavell and Charlie Watts

SPECULATION TRAIN!

I seem to remember that it was not immediately revealed/announced publically when Ronnie officially became a "full time" business Stone (meaning partner in the firm) as opposed to the way he had previously been paid and considered as a sideman. The revealing of that fact was delayed a bit -- I seem to remember it being sort of announced in magazine articles after the fact, like "oh and by the way, they finally made him a partner last year" type of things. I wonder if there has been some new inside change in the business arrangements among the principals involved. Such a move might possibly explain the delays and the Stones holding out for more money on this tour, and the on-off, back-and-forth movement of these different deals with promoters. If they are splitting the money 5 ways instead of 4, that will require a certain amount of extra money to be added to the pile before a tour deal can be struck. Just an opinion!

This is the most embarassing thing the Stones have ever done. For all you people that love the tour and hate the "vegas era". This is the most Vegas thing they ever did, and it was 1981. An all time low for The Stones.

I thought the most embarrassing thing they've ever done was "Streets Of Love".
