I did find it interesting when Woody said (I forget where; his memoir?) that for HAD IT WITH YOU—because it was an old-fashioned rocker—he told the other Stones, "Just you guys play on this. Only the original, pure, Rolling Stones line-up should play on this song, and I'll opt out." The other Stones played it live while Woody stayed behind the glass. And then Woody did later overdub the sort of mono-note sax in the background.
