OT: Pope Francis from Argentina.
Posted by: crawdaddy ()
Date: March 14, 2013 00:51

I have seen the news tonight and the new Pope seems like a nice humble guy.
I am not that religious or a Catholic ,but I am glad that the new Pope is from South America.Largest percentage of Catholics come from that continent.

It must be great joy for all our Stones friends in Argentina,Brazil,Chile,Uruguay and all over the South American continent who are in the Catholic faith.

To all the Spanish speaking people in the world it must make them very happy.

I was hoping that opening up a thread on the new Pope would restore my faith in man and life in general.
Obviously by my opening comment,I am very happy for all Catholics ,but unfortunately negative and hostile comments start appearing very soon as well as the realy nice posts.
Years ago letters were sent by communicating with pen pals and that sort of thing about life in general, but it all seems so differant, and I gotta say, rude in how people talk to each other.
That's life I guess in the 21st Century and beyond. confused smiley

He's a caretaker Pope, he'll call a Vatican Council (III) and that will be the end of the Catholic Church as everyone knows it.

They did this trick in the 1958 when they elected Pope John XXIII.

Francis.

"Rebuild my Church" (you need to know your St Francis to understand this).

Watch the reinvention.

Traditional Catholics will split.

Haven't you noticed that there is as many OT threads on here about anything and everything.

Once The Stones get off their arses and get on with the tour, there might be more to talk about on a Stones site.
It's like watching paint dry otherwise. confused smiley

pathetic that anyone in this day and age acts as if this guy or the role of Pope is somehow still relevant.

Sure, he's not NEAR as relevant as Keith Richards in today's world.

Sad.

TMontana and the rest, who are great experts on religion, history and the beliefs of people all over the world, clearly don't respect anyone who doesn't think their way.

How long is BV gonna let this thread drag on?

Surprise surprise (sweet bird of paradox) they elect a virulently anti gay, anti contraceptive, anti feminist man to judge our morals. Glad to see this cult is moving out of the dark ages. Leviticus anyone?

I wouldn't like to be in his shoes. There is a huge work to be done and clean up the house ! especially when you pretend to give moral lessons to the whole world !

People who are upset that their tender religous or political sensitivities are offended on this site should refrain from posting threads with political or religous themes.

No problem. Coffee, or lack thereof, can do that.
Serious? Not really. Not on this board. BTW, it's grammar, not gramar.
Don't know if that was an in-joke or not.
The "Madness" saying. That's from Mind Games, I believe.

Of course it was an inny with ya Tom! Good one, your catching the quotes! How about what album does Winston O' Boogie play on? But also remember New York City..."The Pope smokes dope every day!"
