an acquired taste , i know , which i acquired in the eighties . never looked to play rock music again till about ten years ago and put some rock styles (and songs) in the set .
now when i play i pod on shuffle its a mix of pure tunes on one end of the scale to the stones ofcourse at the other end , via some of the stuff you mention. same when we play on stage .

I struggle with a lot of Irish folk in it's raw form...but I really like to hear its influence come out in other country & rock genres .

OK - so this is not Irish, it's Scottish but it's an amazing folk song, written by Leon Rosselson. Some of you might remember a version by Billy Bragg. This in my mind is the best version. It's by Dick Gaughan. Please have a listen. It's about the Digger's uprising of 1649 in England. People have the power!
