Unlikely. It's the poorest state in the nation.

Unlikely. It's the poorest state in the nation.

Mississippi is largely a rural State that is bookended by two major metro areas (Memphis & New Orleans) having several venues capable of hosting a Stones show.

I honestly don't know of a venue in Mississippi that is capable of hosting a (major) touring act.
Lots of touring acts do visit Mississippi, especially now with all the casinos, but none the likes of the Stones, U2, etc.

Bobby D on Ole Miss:

(Also liked the Sheryl Crow cover)

Well, the emptiness is endless, cold as the clay
You can always come back, but you can't come back all the way
Only one thing I did wrong
Stayed in Mississippi a day too long

there are four venues in Mississippi with capacities of 10-15,000 - in Biloxi, Jackson, Southaven and Tupelo.

Elton John has played in every state, but I think he sorta deliberately made a point of doing that.

Biloxi is the only place, similar to Mobile, AL with the Coliseum.

Ole Miss most certainly has a football stadium in which they could play.

Too close to Nashville/Memphis probably.

They haven't bothered with New Orleans since 1994 - and the booked date at the arena in New Orleans still would've had dismal attendance regardless of not having Katrina - but they could possibly sell out the Mississippi Coast Coliseum, which seats 11,500 for music shows, or the 10,000 some seat Mobile Civic Center Arena.

The point was, is there a venue in that state in which they could play, not the likelihood.

P.S. Oxford is *not* close to Nashville.
