then jump on stage for four shows and expect them to go smoothly?

I have been to a couple of tour openers and found them quite rough even with a club show warm-up. I don't see how they are going to rehearse for 1 month and then jump on stage for four shows and expect them to go smoothly?

I hope there are only London shows and no NYC shows so I can stop mulling over if I want to drop all this money on a NY show.

One thing that can hugely improve the warhorses is if they shave off 4 minutes from these ridiculous triathalon versions that go 5-7 minutes long in length. They're using the tired idea that the bigger the song--the longer it has to be.
Charlie and the band pace themselves so much for these epic 7 minute renditions that it limits them creatively from doing anything else with these songs. They automatically go on auto-pilot because they know they need to save their energy for the duration of the entire song. It's very limiting and traps them all into a very small area to create something new with these songs.

How difficult is it? Seriously? And how come everyone else can do that with ease yet different allowances and expectations are made for 'the greatest rock n roll band in the world' ?
If a band of so-called professional musicians cant put together a set of 20 well-played songs after a rehearsal of over a month they have no business even playing in the backroom of a pub with a £5 cover charge let alone in front of 20,000 people who have paid about a week's salary to witness it.
The difference between these shows and a tour is that they only need to rehearse enough songs for a show of about two hours. When the Stones prepare for a tour, they work on about 100-120 songs over a period of 5-6 weeks.
There is no reason in the world why these shows cant 'go smoothly'. And they'll almost certainly play a small warm up gig or two before them anyway.

... But there will be London shows, due to be announced pretty soon.

Gonna be next year now, I'm sure.

Now the band's sax player Bobby Keys has said that the shows will take place in November, as previously denied by the band.
