Tommy Ramone is also still very much alive. At least he was when I met him a couple of years ago.

You talk about dead people against to be healty but you can be alive and not healthy. The Stones are perhaps in the last section.

Keeping the excess weight off is probably the healthiest thing one can do and The Stones have done that quite well... not saying anyone else did or did not, just saying the Stones did.

It's not always how much you weigh, but how it's distributed. The worst place to carry excess weight is in the gut, Keith should be worried about that belly.

Smoking probably kept some of them skinny for years. It looks alcoholism did the trick for Ronny. Charlie quit smokes some time ago and was never excessive in his chemical indulgences. Mick's father was a physical education instructor and it appears Mick has rarely strayed from the rigors of exercise. Keith is Keith.

I know he bought Johnny Cash's home in Nashville, but it unfortunately burned to the ground.

Does anyone know if he rebuilt there or if he lives in Nashville?

He and his wife 'n kids are often in Nashville (Barry is making a country album) but still maintain their primary home in Miami Beach.

Only Dee Dee "Ramone" would be considered death by misadventure. Joey and Johnny died for reasons unrelated to the rock and roll lifestyle.

So sad that all three of Barry's brothers were taken before their time.

I was watching Amazing Journey, the The Who Documentary, yesterday and thinking how fortunate the Stones are that no one in the group has died since Brian passed away in 1969. The Jimi Hendrix Experience are all gone, half of the Beatles, half of the Who ...

All Stones except Bill has been taking hard drugs, several have periodically been drinking way too much, most of them have been heavy smokers for most of their lives, etc.

As Max'sKansasCity pointed out, not being overweight is probably one of the reasons.

Aerosmith is alive and kicking too, despite years of heavy drinking, drugs, etc. - I think they may still smoke? Not sure.

Maybe the weight thing does play an important role. I like how Steven Tyler says the best exercise is keeping your hand away from your mouth
