How much is it worth if it's got an authentic Mick Jagger booger on it?

Steffiestones is right. The boxes are auto-pen. Here's the mail that I've received today from Bravado regarding my question:

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to email Bravado. There is no Certificate of Authenticity with this order. The signature is auto-pen.

If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to contact us.

Look, there have been lots of confusion about this here and on other fan boards - then the Stones tweeted that the signatures were real - for what reason, the "great rock'n'roll swindle"? winking smiley

If Bravado says auto-pen, believe me, it's gonna be auto-pen.

They should have three price levels: 1. Normal price for ordinary customers. 2. Over-priced for customers who wants cheap merchandise included. 3. Outrageous price for bona fide idiots who don't mind being conned.

It's worth exactly how much somebody is willing to pay for it. A stone from my garden would be worth a billion bucks if only I could find an idiot who's willing to pay that money.

I'm really surprised that even a single customer could have believed one second it was really handsigned...Jagger the greedy bastard basically gives the brush off to fans asking for one signature at the exit of a studio and you want him to sign 2000 items ...lol !spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

1) maybe official Jagger autopen signatures will turn out to be much rarer than
his genuine signatures. and thus perhaps eventually more valuable.

2) the current generation of advanced autopens can now build in some natural-
looking variation into each signature, thus making the comparing of signatures
an unreliable test.

3) May 2011: "For the first time in United States history, a bill has been
signed into law by a mechanical autopen, which affixed the president’s signature
at the direction of Mr. Obama, who is in Europe. Congress on Thursday passed
legislation extending the Patriot Act for four years. But with Mr. Obama abroad
and the existing legal authorities set to expire, the White House concluded that
a mechanical signature would do.”

4) It was also widely reported that Obama uses autopen to sign the letters to
families of military killed in action. though I don't know if this was ever
confirmed. The last I heard handwriting experts with microscopes were debating it.

That last one, if true, is very sad.

The story continues, my friends, because I've just received this e-mail from Bravado:

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to email Bravado.

I'm extremely sorry for the confusion. Latara is one of my team members. She brought this issue to my attention after reading your last reply. After reviewing the email thread, we both noticed the mistake we made by assuming these were not hand signed and spoke with our client services team for clarification. The Brussels Affair Box -- Collector's Edition is indeed personally hand-signed by Mick Jagger, as well as Michael Putland and Nick Kent. These signatures are not auto-pen. Because these are limited edition with a small number of units being sold, each one is individually numbered as well. The on-line store description is correct.

We apologize for any inconvenience. This was simply a case of a misunderstanding on my part and not doing the correct follow up.

If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to contact us.

Sincerely,

Joshua

Yes, now says they are not autopenned. Sounds fishy at first, but then thinking about the person who responded, was probably some secretary that had no idea what the original question really meant. And didn't understand how that statement would reverberate through the collector's community. I love collecting stuff, but this still is pretty excessive price for a double album and some nick knacks.

(story from an autograph site. i think i remember photos from this day,
with l'wren and lucas: )

A few years back, I got a tip that Mick Jagger was at the Getty Museum here in
town. I rushed over to the museum with a Stones album. The situation was
extremely low-key and I was the only autograph collector at the museum.

It was fascinating to observe Mick Jagger and his family walking throughout
the museum. Mick has one of the most famous faces in the world – yet NOBODY was
noticing him!! It was sort of odd. Mick simply placed a rolled newspaper in
front of his face and tapped his nose with it as people passed by. The newspaper
obscured his face only slightly, but it was enough to keep him incognito.

I stood back and thought Mick didn’t notice me. I felt I had a good chance of
ambushing him with an album at the very last minute. I waited next to the steps
with my back to the singer. I was doing my best to act like I didn’t notice him.
Personally, I felt the performance was deserving of an award of some sort… that
is, until Jagger suddenly turned and bolted into a nearby elevator. Somehow he’d
spotted me.

How did he know I was waiting for him?? Who knows? I guess an overweight guy
carrying a “shoulder bag” around at a museum may have been the tip-off.
Regardless, I jumped into the elevator at the last minute before the doors
closed. Here I was in the elevator with just Mick, his wife and kid, and a big
security guard. Did I mention he was big? I mean, this guy was huge.

I whipped out my Rolling Stones record and this big gorilla
unapologetically SLAMS me hard against the wall of the elevator. The guy had a
heavy Scottish accent and he’s screaming at me, his Scottish spittle splashing
in my face on every word: “NOT ON MY SHIFT, MATE!! LEAVE THE GUY ALONE. IT’S HIS
DAY-OFF!!”

Mick just pretends he doesn’t notice what’s happening. He smiles and walks to
his car as the security guy has me pinned up against the wall. Never did get an
autograph.

Yeah – so, this is the kind of crap you have to put up with if you even attempt
to get a Mick Jagger autograph. It’s not easy. Your often putting your own
safety at risk. This is why authentic Mick Jagger’s autographs are so expensive
and rare. They are simply not that easy to secure – regardless of what other
collectors might claim.

I've been misreading this thread.

I thought it was "AUTO OPEN".

That would be cool.

A CD box that opens itself.
