Posted by: walkingthedog ()

Here is a list of what I think are extremely beautiful ballads. Don't know why I made the list or why I'm posting it. Just bored of the other topics, I guess. So here they are (alphabetical order) :

1.750,000 anni fa ... L'amore? , Banco del Mutuo Soccorso
2.Ne me quitte pas, Jacques Brel
3.Here comes the flood , Peter Gabriel (original version)
4.Just a little bit of peace in my heart, Golden Earrings
5.Sixty years on, Elton John
6.Nights in white satin, Moody Blues
7.Bridge over troubled waters, Simon & Garfunkel
8.I close my eyes and count to ten, Dusty Springfield
9.Hide in your shell, Supertramp
10.Archangel, Walker Brothers

Good list/thread, and a lot better than some other recent topics. thumbs up

For my tastes, when it comes to soft and easy ballads, I prefer female singers...

Not exactly a ballad, but this one came first to mind - and it's great.

Blue Rodeo (from Canada) has a bunch of tearjerkers and ballads all over its 25 year career....(but they can rock pretty good, too)

Jim Cuddy has got to be one of the most under rated singers out there, anywhere

here's a couple examples if you don't know this band

This one should be in the top ten:

"No dope smoking no beer sold after 12 o'clock"

This beautiful one from Martina McBride is a real tear jerker. I do love her voice.
