I'm sad to tell you that my friend and IORR member Olav Gjengedal passed away of cancer yesterday (Sunday) I first meet him 14 years ago, on the boat from Norway to Denmark, both going for the Stones-show in Parken. We discovered that we was staying at the same hotel in Copenhagen, and on the way to the consert we talked about catalog-numbers and matrise-numbers, and that was the start of our friendship. After Copenhagen we went to Gothenburg and Oslo for the next shows, and that was our first 3 shows together. I know that he didn't write on the board, but many of you knew him (also as a collector), so I tought it was right to write a few words here and tell you about the sad news.

Yea, very,very sad that Olav Jakob Gjengedal had to leave us yesterday (at only 63 y)

He was a extraordinary Stones Fan and true friend. Always positive and happy!

Even when meeting him in Amsterdam (August 20, 2003) and had to tell him that the nights concert was cancelled he took it with a smile and suggested that we should go for a beer. He came there only for that concert, but had tickets for later shows, of course ;-)

Last time I did see him and visited him at the hospital here in Oslo we both knew where it was going, but he still was in pretty good mood and we talked a lot.

Didn't know the man, but it's always sad to hear about losing someone in our extended Stones family. I hope for his happiness on the other side. Warm regards to those that knew him.
