All Down The Line live 72 footage
Posted by: achilles77 ()

I've never seen this before. It's obviously filmed by the same crew that did L&G TRS and from the same time. Not sure why it's black and white though.

It looks to be a performance that just didn't make the film. Any thoughts on where/when this footage surfaced ?

thanks

Well, that is nothing short of thrilling. I love to watch great video of Taylor playing back in the day...getting to match the sound with the sight makes me even more appreciative. If I am not mistaken he is even rocking out there a bit (except when Jagger is looking at him). Notice how he goes back to being restrained (cool) when Jagger is checking him out.

In 72 in those jumpsuits, at the height of his powers no one could beat Jagger. He is only standing at the mike for most of the song but is totally magnetic.
he sings great, and the band earns that title they carry.
I like Jagger at 0;19 and 0:38 just the way he pulls back from the mike for a second in between lines. I also just notice that their tempo is impeccable - that is exactly 19 second later, after two more lines.

It's the same version as in the movie, just some different angles in the video.

You behave like a jealous post mortem Brian Jones. However, I don't think Brian would behave like that if he were still alive. It's pathetic actually.

oh yeah no doubt

very cool version. i like the one in the L&G film too of this song, near the end, where jagger sort of shuffles off to the side and then they show him dancing as the band rages toward conclusion. no rock singer could ever move like that, none, before or since. amazing.

It was intentional, you've already told me what it meant during a past widdle.

Oh hell yes; I knew already w/o looking which sequence you were talking about. That is so bad. There is another version, and I am almost 100% sure that it is also ADTL. In the wild ending of the song you see Jagger turning around towards Charlie and shaking his head, and laughing crazxy. He is definitely wearing the black Marilyn t-shirt in that sequence. But I cant recall what show it is.

I think you're talking about the version in CS Blues. I love that bit, if it's the one you're referring to.

Re: All Down The Line live 72 footage

might a been CS Blues yeah. i think jagger wore that shirt in it and at some point you see it on him in the dressing room, and a partial clip from ADTL follows, where jagger is looking at charlie for a bit and dancing around.... amazing

The audio of the @#$%& Blues version is actually this Houston 06/25 1st performance. The footage is from San Francisco 06/06 1st.

Same for the Happy and (probably) the Brown Sugar live clips in CS Blues: audio from Houston 06/25 1st, video from Los Angeles 06/11 2nd.
