She Was Hot - extended version
Posted by: Virgin Priest ()
Date: July 22, 2012 12:44

Right now, I´m listening to the extended version of SHE WAS HOT (6´50).

It´s a marvellous piece of music, a fantastic combination of Stones magic and 80s style.

But what about the origin of that long version. I don´t know anything.

Is it played by the Stones themselves, live in studio? Or is it a "remix", done by Mick, any producer or studio engineer?

Thanks!

Priest

Hey nankerphlege, why the "Go Dawgs"?

It was leaked to a DJ back in the 80s before the album came out. The last minutes of the track is pure gold. Beautiful keyboards and guitars with great starts and stops by Charlie and Bill.

To my knowledge no version has been circulated aside from the cassette with the DJ intro. There is always a lingering possibility that one of the elite collectors has a mint acetate of the long version. That and the original version of Might As Well Get Juiced...

Have heard it before but a long time ago, where can this be heard? Is there any boots that have this version on it.

You can get it on 'More Sucking In The 70's" [WLR] even though it was clearly in the 80's...a few other fan made comps have it too.

There was also a great early version of Undercover Of The Night unvieled at the same time, by the same station [WYSP] that midnrambler circulated as well. That version of Undercover has better guitars and more of them...

it's not a different version...but a different mix that keef apparently preferred...talked about it at the time of the album's release. there's the long, long version that circulates widely (10 minutes or so, i recall)...but i don't think that's what drake is talking about...

Thanks for posting that link. I've never head of this version of SHE WAS HOT much less heard it. Love Bill's bass work starting around 5:20.

Heard this when it was leaked too early by a local DJ. What a bummer it wasn't included on the original album. I love the long version.

Always bothered me that they didn't include this version on the album.

Just out of curiosity, can anyone please confirm if the Miss You VI version (or the 8-track version) on this "More Sucking In The 70's" bootleg CD contains a "skip" near the beginning of the song? The copy I have on MP3 has a skip in it, and I'd like to get a cleaner copy of this version if possible (I'll probably have to look into finding this CD if its version is cleaner. The CD looks fantastic)!

I'm referring to the holy grain Keith version which I have heard rumors of.. The 10 minute version is the remix right?

It's on one of those "Laid in the Shade" boots.

Laid in the shade Vol.2 Thats where I heard it first too.
It's been the DJ version as well. Would love to hear a clean version of this without the talking . .
