Démarrage formidable from Cadel Evans. Together with his teammate van Garderen in the counter attack now.

I heard Evans has no good legs to pull through. Let Van Garderen go!

Yes, Evans is not gonna make it. Sky team is too strong. And yes, it was obvious that Van Garderen was stronger and could get away

Will the big fight take place yet, or will Wiggins easily finish this stage?

Conclusion of this day:

Very well done by Rolland, but if Froome could have go on, he would likely have won the stage. Wiggins has won about 1 minute and something on Evans and Van Garderen had to hold his reigns because of his boss Evans. Witch is a pity.

Vive La France, French victory again today, congratulations. Not the excitement that I was hoping for. But yet a very enjoyable race.

Yes indeed. A pity for Froome and Van Garderen that they had to wait for their leaders. Oh well, team tactics. Think we got used to it by now, although I still don't like it.

Me neither. If I was Van Garderen's boss I would let him go. Evans won't win this tour. And it would be very interesting to see Froome and Wiggins fight against each other.

yes I'm delighted that the great and hard stages are won by French riders
But what a pity it has no impact on the general ranking
indeed, Evans doesn't seem to be in a good shape...for the moment !

The only way Wiggo loses is if he crashes or has a major mechnical (and the Yellow Jersey is NOT going to have a major mechanical).

Team Sky seem to have an answer for everything.

Too bad, I want to see more attacks! And I'd like to see a much closer GC competition.

Don't think this will happen......

BTW, even if you don't like cycling and you don't care about the Tour de France at all, it is beautiful to watch the broadcast on TV. French TV is showing wonderful images of the scenery. If you plan a trip to France, there is no better tourist guide than this broadcast.

13 July 1967 Tommy Simpson dies while climbing the Mont Ventoux.
They showed the images again yesterday on TV.
I can remember that moment as if it happened only yesterday.

Just can't imagine it happened 45 years ago.

I still can remember how I felt when the news of this drama was told. I had never seen any images of the Tour on TV if I recall well, but that news just fuelled my imagination and it was kinda terrifying.

Hello,

Wow! What a cracker of a finish...another tough run in and an insanely fast sprint. Phew!
Unlike the riders, I don't want this race to end anytime soon, hah-hah!

Cheers,

Simon.

Looks like they are taking it easy today. How is it possible that Cavendish is in the front of the peloton during the climb ?

Something strange is happening: flat tyres all over the place. Never seen before.
