The True Adventures of the Rolling Stones the book

Stanley Booth's book has recently been republished in the UK. Available at Amazon at a decent price.

If you are a Stones fan and have not read this book you are in for a treat.
It's as real as it gets by a deeply talented writer who was in the heart of the action.

Super nice of you to plug other authors' books, stonesrule -- a beautiful expression of community and sharing! smiling smiley

I own 3 copies of this book -- it's so wonderfully written and contains such marvelous information. Hope Stanley Booth
does some book signings in California, with the release of this edition!

It's a good book, I read it in the 80s when it came out. I'm not sure where my copy went to but I recently downloaded the Kindle version.

Easily the best book I ever read about the Stones. Read it on holiday in 1990 when I was seriously getting into them as a band and just before I saw them live for the first time. For me it cemented their outlaw status.

"He's was good but he's no Mick Jagger".

A groupie discussing Mick in bed.

I love this book- it's amazing and funny. Pack your bags because you're going on a road trip with Stanley & the Stones! And as sssoul said, Stanley's writing is like ringing a bell. Well said!

Originally, I had bought a version for my Kindle, but after I read Stanley's getting the royalties from this new edition (he didn't get the royalties from the prior paperback edition), I purchased the real thing.
It's by far the best book I've read on the Stones.smoking smiley

Never read the book. I was quite discouraged when I read this critic some time ago.

I read "'Till I Roll Over Dead", which was a MAJOR disappointment - loaded with mistakes and sloppiness.

However, I've heard that this is the real deal, so I will probably get the re-published version of TTAOTRS...

For anyone who hasn't read it yet, I should add this is without a doubt the best book about the Stones (and the 1969 tour) - so go for it!
