I have never been a source for tour speculation either on here, Shidoobie of Rocks Off, but I am 100% positive that a tour is in the works. I cannot go into details due to my finding-out being work-related, but it is happening. I found this out last Saturday. Let's just say that a rather careless Rolling Stone gave it away.

winking smiley

Bullshit, i spoke to a rather careless Rolling stone yesterday, and he said,he is proud ofhis chart succes in the UK, and doesnot want to perform with his old band mates.
jeroen

Big Al shared the info he had with me last weekend. And it was absolutely 100% irrefutable in terms of a tour being officially a 'go'. Its not a case of a band member just talking to someone. Its a case of documentary evidence.

As Rocky says, the only thing that will prevent a tour is some unforeseen disaster.

Damn...now I'm going to have to actually try to save some money for this!

Oh well, at least I know where my entertainment and travel budget is going in 2012!

I seem to remember you on an almost daily basis not believing the 2007 tour was going to happen until it did.

It might be hard to grasp, but you dont have to be a band member or close friend of the band to come across information that tends to give things away - be it from contacts or in the course of your employment. In Al's case, it was the latter.

Gazza and Big Al, I think it is not necessary to convince everybody. There are people who can read between the lines. Sorry for those who cannot.

NO? No what?? No, no one is going to say no tour, or NO TOUR? I'm guessing he means no one will be saying NO TOUR because it looks like BV just confirmed that the tour is ON!! Have I read this correctly! LOL!!

Rocky, I've been convinced from the moment Big Al spoke up that this
documentation exists. I didn't even need you and Gazza to back him up.

However, even though I still expect/hope that the Stones will tour at some
point over the next year or two, I do not as yet have any faith that this
specific documentation reflects what will actually happen nearer term.

Only Keith can convince me of that.

True enough. But after a while, its easy to separate the bullshitters, I'd have thought. Al doesn't exactly have a history of being in that category and its quite a bold statement to make unless he has the info to back it up, and he says that he has due to his job. And knowing him personally and knowing what his job is, it's absolutely legit.

Now THAT is 'blah' !

"Ronnie is going to have a job on his hands squeezing in time for rehearsals if both of the bands decide to do the gigs. The rocker's got one of his busiest years yet coming up.

Already pencilled in for the next few months are his show on Absolute Radio, a TV show, a trip to the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in Ohio and his painting."

An already recorded TV show, a day out in Ohio and a bit of dabbling with a paintbrush.

Gasp! How will he able to fit a Stones tour in to all of that? These poor over worked musicians!

I won't post any more on the matter because I know no details whatsoever regarding specifics of any kind. All I know is that there will be a tour in the near future.

Hey! Now I can confirm a show!

L'Wren's show for Fashion Week NYC begins in just a few minutes. Mick has
been at every other one, so keep your eyes peeled, Manhattanites.

Its not for me to start such a thread, but at this point there should definitely
be a new sticky headlined "Gazza absolutely certain a Stones tour starts
relatively soon." This info is far too important to be buried on page 3 of
this one. Alert the multitudes! Hold high the stone tablets from the mountaintop!

Or just ask mickscarey. The Done Deal Tour was finalized three years ago. Or if we go through all of this year then it'll be four years ago.

Actually, they have had one eye on 2012 since the end of the ABB tour in 2007. However, nothing is truly a "Done Deal" until they have completed whatever they have planned for 2012 and 2013. Then we/they can say: "Done Deal". Or "Job Well Done".

the only one who can say "yes" is mick

the only one who can say "no" is keith

so i wouldn't hold my breath for an answer anytime soon.

unless keith kicks ass at the apollo.

that i think would force mick's hand.

Keith is ready to roll and so is Mick.

Little Steven did say he knew something about when their 50th anniversary actually was that none of us did. Maybe he was just BSing but as long as they all stay healthy (and let's face it, they are definitely getting up there in age for what they do) I would say next year is their last chance if they don't do anything this year.

SVZ isn't the only one who knows what is going on behind the scenes. But he is definitely a reliable source.

okay then. my supposition is that mick is waiting for keith to prove that
keith is ready to rock. what other possible explanations are there for
mick's behavior?

oh yeah, i forgot. "building suspense". sorry, i don't buy that one
anymore. this delay is real. all kinds of real opportunities are starting
to slide on by.

Mick's behavior? Real opportunities? Delay? Everything is right on schedule for something very big in 2012 and 2013. What that (very big) is, is the only mystery left.

That may 'factor in' to the decision, but I don't think MJ will be forced into anything. As you've said, it's his decision. He could even go without KR (to lots of criticism) by bringing in MT.

I think they'll do something; big prices, big guests, big venues, few shows.

No matter what they ultimately decide to do, it's going to be BIG!

The first 'gig' anniversary is this summer, but 2013 was when Charlie joined, and the 50th anniversary of their first single.

And 2014 is the 50th anniversary of their debut album. See you in two years then smileys with beer

And 2015 is the 50th anniversary of Satisfaction. Should be good through 2015. After that all bets are off.

The good question is:
- Is Keith able to play guitar for a whole show. Hands are the main trouble, I think he can't. He could do something but only if he will play attention to his playing and forget posing during 75% of the show.
- Does he really want to play. All the others in the band do their alternate jobs but Keith nothing! I think that again in fact of his hands... and a little bit too of his brain which must be a little bit used and burned by his way of life. Don't forget the age. He is not 25 years old. There is no shame to say, I'm sorry but I stop, I am not able to continue because of my disease It could be a good time to stop his musical life with dignity. If he wants to continue touring, it will end in pathetic conditions...

too soon to count keith out. he's gotten up off the canvas many times before to
pull out the victory by knockout or decision. your 75% number is crap. a lot
of his bigger bang stuff is real good. even on shine a light, he was real
good (minus the sympathy solo). my money's still on keith. its not "requiem
for a heavyweight" time yet.

Keith is ready.
