is there any chance for people outside the U.S. to watch this?

I'm not certain. It's going to be aired on PBS on 27th February at 9pm EST. Then in the future it's going to be aired again on PBS during their fund-raising events.

Hope all of you can get to see this performance! Good luck!

Now that was FUN. Even if Mick does have to ration himself on the More Fast Numbers in future (which may or may not be true), I'll be very happy to see more like Miss You (especially if he's going to play the harp like that...)

Here's the Big Finish with Sweet Home Chicago - takes a little while to get started, but it's worth the wait.

Mick was great, but he was indeed taking breaths very often.

His range is narrowing, but hey - it swings! thumbs up

Agree, Mick was fabulous, but it took him sometime to catch his breath after the first song. Just a reminder that nothing is forever, no matter how we wish it was!

Yes I noticed too that but I think that usually Mick doesn't have to speak after he finishes his first song. It's a drastic change from running, singing to coming to a stop and addressing the president in a clear and collected manner.

well okay so he was short of breath but the nerves added to that i'm sure -
actually i had the impression he was playing the breathlessness up a bit to cover his rattledness,
but that was probably just me being odd again

It was great to see Mick up and about but horrible to see him on such 'good boy repressed behaviour'.............I mean what happened to "I've been @#$%& ing with myself" in Miss you.........confused smiley...but then again - I've just heard - it was for charity so............

here's what worked for me in australia...

over my girlfriend's, who unlike me has unlimited bandwidth, we couldn't get it
to stream from the whitehouse site. so i got the bright idea for her to sign
in to her facebook account (i still don't do facebook yet) and we went to the
whitehouse site on facebook, and voila! it streamed perfectly. i thought about
trying to alert IORR about this but i did not have my password with me...

anyway, if the whitehouse archives the stream for later viewing, and it doesnt
work in your country, you may want to try to get at it through facebook.

Well playing the White House can't be compared to any regular performance but it's sure good to see Mick on stage even if he's somewhat nervous and out of breath.

Man, what a night! I got to watch the live stream on my regular TV because my boyfriend rigged it through the computer. No clue what he did but I didn't care...he's not even a Mick/Stones fan, go figure! Anyway, Mick was brilliant, yes, out of breathe a bit but it was because he was trying to talk right after his performance...and because he's 68. I thought that what he said, although brief, was well-thought out, telling his tale of the early Stones at Chess Studios in Chicago, how none of the big blues stars knew who they were!! He said " we weren't anybody back then!"... I loved the fact that he referred to the Rolling Stones and their connection to American blues...very nicely expressed, and with added humor. No one can say he isn't a very classy gent!
Yes, he did take a chance with " Five Years Gone", the Booker T number ( might not be the correct title), but it was terrific! I wished that he had skipped " Miss You" in favor of a blues classic, after all it was a celebration of the blues, and he could have showcased his harp playing on a blues tune but there had to be a reason for picking that song. So glad he got to sing during the finale and I loved him handing the mic to the President... I don't think Obama would have joined in if Mick hadn't put him on the spot...all in good sport and a good time was had by all! I'm glad it's over, Mick was nervous...not surprise, it was a big deal!

okay, i'll bite:
several people have said something like "Mick was only out of breath because he was talking right after his first number" -
but normally after a first number he launches straight into a second one, which requires even more breath than talking.
so ... [scratching head] ... can someone explain in what way "he was only out of breath because he was talking" makes sense,
please and thank you kindly?

+2.... I think that one song gig is more tiring than a whole stadium show, he knew what the stakes were and he gave it his all... plus nerves, big wigs, security, the White etc etc etc... I bet some couldnt even do this gig, let alone do it Jagger style.... of course it winded him. BRAVO MICK

as a Chicagoan I hope never to hear a large jam version of Sweet Home Chicago again.....Mick was head of the class last night IMO.....Jeff Beck over powers everyone as usual. I had hoped for a harp player beyond Mick playing on miss you and apparently they do not have a piano at the White House.

I stand corrected! ( I'd better do it before the pack picks up on it!) It was indeed a Howlin Wolf tune, " Commit A Crime" not called " 5 Long Years", produced by Booker T. I confess, I was not familiar with the song but I loved it. No one mentioned Susan Tedeski( sp) and her delivery of the Etta James tune, " I'd Rather Go Blind".. I thought it was well done.

I really enjoyed this show!

I've consulted with the oracle. Mick pretending to be so out of breath was him
throwing an olive branch to Keith, saying to us and the world, me and Keith
are gonna start growing old together again...

So sayeth the oracle.

(Past performance is no guarantee of future results)

After a couple of listens to "Turn you loose" at the White House I am delighted,
I would like to have/hear more. I loved the way Mick Jaggerized that song.

If you heard that in a mall, in a store or on someone's car radio, you would instantly know that was my Jagger, and he was sounding great!! And watching it again, I could almost see Jake and Elwood up there doing backflips with Mick.
