On the one hand, I find it very coincidental that Mick will be in DC on the 21st of February and not sing along with Keith's playing.

I hope some of the musicians like, Bob Margolin, that have done shows with Hubert thru the years will attend and play. It would have been nice to have had some of the old school players that are still around, play as the backing band.

Pretty sure Willie Weeks, Steve Jordan, and Ivan Neville are the core back-up band for the Hubert Sumlin tribute.
The idea of Mick playing harp behind other artists at the White House is a nice one, but there is no precedence of it happening in the past (like the Hammersmith Odeon Jazz & Blues Music Day Festival in 1992 or the Mustique Blues Fest in 2005) so it seems unlikely. It would be amazing, though.

which brings up a question i've been meaning to ask. Who are the Stones with
or under or managed by?

which brings up a further question. according to gazza's sources, there was
an agreement (at least in principle) Sept 2011 for the Stones to tour. well
then, who pray tell was that agreement with? or did they just agree with each
other that they'd kinda like to do it at some point?

Don't you know promises were never made to keep?

as far as Mick goes.. as half of the Sumlin line up is also performing in the White House I wouldn't be surprized if Buddy Guy or someone tried to convince Mick to join for the Apollo as well.. 'special guests' are expected.. so there's no real barrier if Mick decided the last minute to do it..
I have my fingers crossed.

Where have you been? I'm going up. A friend is having a trunk sale at Niagara on 7th and A, so I'll be there until 6ish. Are you going to the pre show party at the Apollo?
