I beg to differ about Steve Vai here:
He has the balls just like Richards, the feeling just like Jeff Beck, he plays the guitar with the sensitivity and intonation of an India Vina-player, played a lot with Frank Zappa - which is quite significant music, and technically rather good.
He influenced lots of young guitarists. In other words: he explores the guitar in his own way. Besides he is a broad-minded personality and rather modest.
That's the reason why some people don't like him. Please get the wax out of your fossilized ears, at least just for one song.
Of course Vai is a good player, even better than his teacher Satriani. However, people's aquired taste is different - and when you have problems with the guitarist's style and taste - there's bound to arise a problem, no matter how technically good he is or how inventive he was. Well, he invented the seventh string, right?
Right of course, and from a musical point of view it's better to add one than to remove one..
Yep, if you fancy fax machines

Ok, if you put Hendrix in your Top 10 list, you should know the correct spelling of his first name. ><
