I think it's an ego thing. Humans feel good about themselves if their favourite things (and things they spent lots of money and their time on) are recognized as the best in the world. That's my theory, anyway.Quote

I don't know why anyone would bring this up. They have and alot of the reason is they have gone on for ever, So what. Obviously if the Beatles had decided to go on for ever they would have played for more people then the Stones.

Gazza, just curious, do you have any knowledge as to what the breakdown might be as far as what percent of the total of Beatles record sales are due to purchases by collectors? It would be really interesting to know who purchased what, when, and how much. No doubt the Beatles are the most popular band of all time. At least in terms of record sales.
