Rolling Stones Trivial Pursuit Game
Posted by: mickschix ()

I am just wondering how many of you have played this version of Trivial Pursuit. I received it as a Christmas gift and started to look through the questions....MAN! Some of them are impossible! Very tough questions on lines from songs, very obscure in most cases. Just when I thought I had a pretty solid Stones background and could hang with the best of the hard cores, I got this dropped in my lap, literally!! I am humbled and feel the need to go back to Stones class 101.

A friend of mine bought it for his wife LAST Xmas but we still haven't gotten together to play it. They FEAR me!

Got this last Christmas. Having a hard time getting anyone to play with me. One time it was everyone (6 people) vs me. Yes I did win but because of my constant playing of songs and offering of tidbits of info over the years, the others new much more than they realized. We all actually had fun. My wife who is more pop boardering on bubblegum, was the star for the other team, impressing people with her Stones knowledge. The questions are hard but no need to go back to RS101......

It's so very lonely, you're 2,000 Light Years from home

Any question concerning the 60's and 70's were quite easy for me, but didn't know anything from 1991 on

I knew a lot of the answers but instead of focusing on what I did know, I picked up on the really hard questions. Guess I was hard on myself, expecting to zip through all 5 questions on each card! NOT happening! I have no one to play with...none of my friends are into the Stones. Sad!

why don't you post some questions for us?

I wonder how they put the questions together. I had a Beatles quiz book when I was a kid, and some questions were off. They'd have the equivalent of a question like
"What type bass is Bill Wyman playing on Voodoo Lounge?"

This game is awesome............if yer a total Stones nerd like me n the wifey.

So nerdy, in fact, we've found at least 4 cards with incorrect answers.

No others need apply.

Ok, when I get home, I will post some sample questions. This could be fun!

First Question:

"Name 3 different artist/groups - besides The Stones - who did play that 1963 ballroom tour?"

Ok, Keef, I'm just guessing but I'd say the Everly Brothers and maybe Bo Diddley would have been on that tour in 1963.

HA...
I got this from my cousin this year for Christmas! I haven't even opened yet...saving it for when I get together with my Stones friend.

I brought this for my brother-in-law for Christmas and we tried it out on Christmas night. He's as big a Stones fan as me, if not bigger.

The game lasted about an hour and we were both amazed at the obscure nature of some of the questions, one in particular springs to mind and it was about one of Jade's ex's!

What it illustrated for me was that I seem to play the same four or five albums pretty often. Questions were coming up about Aftermath or Between the Buttons and I had to stretch my brain for some of the lyrical answers. Time I expanded my I-Pod again methinks! I reckon that I've not listened to those albums in at least 5 years.

Ok, I'll start with an easy one and go on to harder questions:
1. Who said " This is what we like, being mobbed by people...this is what we want".
2. What blues track can be found on the b-side of " A Rock and a Hard Place"?
3. What did a drug dealer claim was in his drug-packed attache case to prevent the police from opening it during the 1967 raid on Redlands'?
4. What song begins " Living high, sitting in the sun"?
5. What did Mick Jagger say he could never get Mick Taylor to do on stage? ( this one is tough!)
6. Why did Chuck Berry have to pull out of the Stones' first big tour, which he was supposed to be headlining?
I'll give the answers to all 6 tomorrow.

2. Cook Cook Blues
4. Dirty Work
5. Wear the right clothes (I think?)

1) Brian?

I'm pretty sure Glam Descendant is right on the Mick T question (5).

Indeed pretty tough questions. They do however make me feel a little more normal.

6. Was he in prison for taking a minor over a state border?

Wow this sounds quite good. I saw the Monopoly, and it looked crappy - they used album covers for the properties rather than cool places like Nellcote or Ediths Grove. But the trivial pursuit sounds like something worth owning. Of course, what I REALLY want is that new pinball machine!!
