Demon - is it a classic?
Posted by: drewmaster ()

To my ears, it is. A stunningly gorgeous ballad, and one of the most under-recognized songs recorded by any member of the band. It just gets better with every listen.

Would love to hear your thoughts.

They should have included it on Vintage Vinos CD.

The album by Chris Bailey? Nah, not sure of that...

Absolutely. Without a doubt a fantastic piece of music that I never tire of.

High five.

That one always gives me goose bumbs when the guitar solo comes in too.

Definitely! A classic that has been heard by too few people.

Killer tune. One of his finest. It's in the How Can I Stop category for me.

One of his nicest ballads. I always thought the lyrics could have used a touch more attention, but I love the sound of it and that main guitar lick is so simple yet effective.

I'm just letting you in
Mabye you know
Let me tell you something
It's painful to say
Which way to go
I don't know

Demon in me
Demon in me
I can't live without it

Every river must flow
Shine the light
I want you to stay
But I'm forcing you out
I can't express it
It's such a mess

Demon in me
Demon in me

Between you and me

Demon in me
Demon in me

I'm warning you up
'Cause you slide on my mind
Hammers on my heart
Show me which way to go
I don't know

It's livin' in me
The demon in me

Demon in me
Demon in me

Interesting to me are the (unintentional) connections to one of the themes of 'Performance'.

No. I always thought it was one of the lesser songs on Main Offender.

One of Keith's best.

Better than classic.

Beyond classic.

Yes, I love this song.

Nice and laid back but honestly it's almost like a repeating coda with some noodling thrown in and not much more than that.

I am not much of a fan of Keith's laid-back-just-woke-up style in some of his slow songs.

Not a classic. Just my two cents worth.

Keith has many 'classic' songs, including ballads ... this ain't one of them.

You're just as wicked as you seem.

Go give it a spin on this great Monday!

I forgot how this one went before I even got to the end of it... classic dud is right..

Perhaps y'all need to listen to Streets Of Love since that is more your flow obviously. Y'all like fairy dust and that one's got it.

- the lyrics aren't so great though, are they - not a bad song, hardly a classic though -
