Drift away is a great song. The Stones did a smashing version of it. Should have been on It's Only Rock n Roll! (But they preferred Ain't Too Proud To Beg).

Pete.

"In With the In Crowd" is a pretty cool song, too.

Another great, great soul singer gone.

Love Drift Away and The In Crowd. Here's another one of his all time classics which was a huge record in British Northern Soul clubs in the 70s. RIP Dobie.

For years I thought he was saying "Give me the Beach Boys and free my soul".

I love the rolling stones rendition of drift away; Keith doesn't play only Taylor on guitar. Mick Jagger does lead and backing vocals.
Rock and Roll,

I want you to know I believe in your song
And rhythm and rhyme and harmony
