"Official" Brussels - what jumps out at you most?
Posted by: hbwriter ()

I am addicted to this thing - so what jumps out at you?

a few bits for me -

wyman's bass on star star

jagger's "motherfu-kers, c'mon!" to the band at 3:04 in tumbling dice

jagger's line of french in "angie"

how the new GHS songs form a 4-song set

I guess i have to listen to them back to back, but what jumps out at me most is that I think this 'official' release sounds worse than my older bootlegs.

rename them with the appropriate file type and try again. say Street fighting man.WAV or .MP3 or what have you. Good luck. peace.

What stands out for me is the FAST TEMPOS and the HUGE energy in these shows. The guitarists were at their absolute zenith here and it shows. Mick Taylor just shines and Keith is amazing, pushing them all along, for every song. Almost like they were all on the same stimulants or something....peace.

Jagger's incredible powerful voice, Watts's hard pounding, and the sheer energy dripping from the speakers.

The great, great guitar of Mick Taylor. The official Brussels is the legacy of MT.

The sound of course! and the 4 GHS songs, the playing which is very confident and tight. It actually IS a contender to GYYYO

Mick Taylor's beautiful guitar lick right before the bass comes in on Star Star.

I never really liked YCAGWYW be it official or boot, some versions were OK. But this version kills anything I have ever heard. Its in my brain and feels inside my chest, I cant listen to anything else again I am sure. Why could it not be this good in Perth 73, probably because it was open air concert and in the mid 40s, bloody hot in the summer. Thank the Lord this has now been released.

Funny that you'd mention the Perth version. I think that one's great. One of my all time favorites actually.

I just listened again to Perth 73 and in a lot of respects its just as good. To deliver something as good as that in extreme weather conditions is the mark of a super band. The boys were driping in sweat and still stayed true proffesionals. Yeah its as good as considering. Luv em.

I'd have to say JAGGER !

i always thought the guitars, drums, bass were spectacular (which they are), not I'd under-rated Jagger's vocals.

In the new Brussels he is on fire!!

Another thing I notice is what a great instinctive soulful vocalist Jagger used to be. A far cry from the mannered affected way he has sung for so long.

I'm really impressed by the long Midnight Rambler, almost 13 minutes, YCAGWYW I agree with is on point as well.

Sage advice, I have VLC. It is not always easy for everyone I know to download and make a program work but it's excellent to have.
