2012 Tour Opener - Strong Premonition
Posted by: Paulhanrahan ()

I had a dream. Stones opened with "Miss You". It was so very clear, instead of barnstorning the stage, they cruised out to the opening beat of this track, pretty apt on a few fronts as well.

"Lies" - and Mick will sing it in Keith's direction.

"Bitch" will then return to the #2 spot.

Nowadays I'd gladly even take "Popeye the sailor man" as an opener if that means there's a tour on.

That would actually have been a cool choice. Imagine Popeye The Sailor Man blast thru the speakers, like Continental Drift, before the show starts grinning smiley

I like the idea of opening music as Miss You to get a good vibe going, then they break into a rocker like Around and Around or something like that.

I'd never thought of Miss You as an opener... not a bad idea, unexpected.

Come On would also be good.m

As would We Love You somewhere in the set but not as an opener.... perhaps in the usual Muss You 'spot'.

"Salt of the Earth", with the house offering free cups of Jack
for the audience to toast the band.

Or ... "Route 66".

Or ... "Down the Road" apiece.

Or, my fave, "Around and Around". What goes around, comes around.

Keith? spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

Never thought of it before, but I agree We Love You would be a very cool opener.

It's so very lonely, you're 2,000 Light Years from home

How bout In Another Land from Satonic with Bill Wyman (I know he's old but who isn't in the Stones) as lead vocal backed up by Mick. Just kidding. First song should be my favorite Stones song "Paint it, Black.

Please stay asleep and don't wake up until you have a better song.
