What 70's bands do some of you older folks on this board like, I know there are lots. I read many in the 70's only had a one hit wonder made lots of dough and some had several then disappeared. Tell me your story during that era.

I've been listening to the very early REO Speedwagon. They rocked!!! Notice I said VERY EARLY - Like their first 4 or 5 albums. Before that wuss Kevin Cronin destroyed their rock direction.

I did the list, but I'd definitely include Be Bop Deluxe. Their 70s output was some of the best rock and it holds up today. Elliot Murphy could bring it back then and I was a sucker for bands like Head East, Frumpy and Silverhead. Hey, and what about the mighty Capt. Beefheart? Big Eyed Beans and Longneck Bottles indeed!

Making new music in the 70's. That is the purpose, right? To identify favorite 70's bands. I would not count The Beatles because they had broken up. But all four made new music in the 70s. As did Bowie. RIght?
